I've met the last owner of The Cigarette , before she was broken up about 15 years , he still retained the two big blocks and the stern drives .

These were great division 2 boats in the 1980s ., Magnum 28 footers powered by a single 500ci Merc on injection,I understand this boat is around Geelong , be a great project ,I knew and worked for the owners in the late 1970s ../early 80s .

Yep 80mph boats, unlike old F1 ,very few of these boats survive ,the hulls take a pounding and break up ,or are turned into cruisers and lost .

If I could find that Magnum 28 with the single 500ci Merc, be a blast to cruise down the bay channel with Carl racing along doing an easy 40 knots .

This is a great boat .
