thanks. I knew this vid must have been posted before, couldn't find it. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/250lm-video.561579/#post-145606435 .
I don't know if anyone is interested but Artcurial released a video confirming they will offer #5901 in Feb '23. More deets in Jan '23 https://www.artcurial.com/en/sale-4315-retromobile-2023-artcurial-motorcars
In the video Matthieu Lamoure, MD of Artcurial, states that this 250 LM didn't suffer the throes of racing, was entered at the 1966 24 Hours of Daytona as a back up car and that it never raced. However, it was car number 32, and completed 428 laps at the 1966 24 Hours of Daytona before retiring due to the Generator.
NO. 250 LM #5901 did NOT race at Daytona 1966. Number 32 was a 275 P Spider (no roof) with Follmer-Wester. 250 LM #5901 was just a back up car. Tons of websites have it all wrong. This includes also Janos Wimpffen's Time and Two Seats. Copy and paste...... Always, always go by photos only. I think it’s the first time I see a picture of a 250P without the rear arch! Have other Ps been like this or is this the sole example ?
Two more showing race #32 at Daytona 1966. Not a 250 LM and not 5901. Marcel Massini Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think I asked this but don't remember the answer..back in 2008 or so at a FCA event I was told there was a 250LM in Illinois (then). Anyone knows if true and which one? The closest one I can think of is the Indianapolis Museum car.
I’ve been meaning to share these for a while. Had a wonderful chat with the Chris Cox, the owner of this and many incredible cars, about the restoration. I spend a lot of time looking over this gem over. Really stunning. I hope you enjoy the photos. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
great photos but why I can not like the last post with the photos? the 1st and the 2nd post I could "like", but at the last one it says: the following error occurred: you do not have permission to view this page or perform this action. such a messages I never have seen before
now also work fine for me too. I think during my "like" buttom pushing rossocorsa1 was editing his text?
That maybe why. I had loaded a couple 250GTO pics in the post by accident that I was removing, so that could explain things. Glad you like the photos. The car was fresh off a restoration. It’s beautiful.
Love the photos of what is my favorite Ferrari in original short nose configuration. I loved the Shell ads with the 250 LM back in the good old days. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
