Found my seatbelt height adjustment knob on the floor of my car today while fixing my dash vents... ordering parts to fix but have a couple questions...

    1. Is it possible to just do the knob and not the whole rail under the trim piece? Trying to figure this out, not sure how that knob is connected in there...

    2. Any suggestions on how to get those trim pieces off on the b-piller? I had the front roof trim off and the window trim pieces loosened (or at least the clips broken) but didn't need to go any further to do my dash vents this weekend. Just looking to not go in blind on taking those b-piller pieces off if anyone has done it before. I have come up empty when it comes to here and youtube, or maybe I'm just using horrible search terms?

Are talking about the small square plastic piece? If so, reinstall it by pushing back onto the metal "downward angled hook" with the black plastic piece top angled backward as you slip it over and onto the "hook". Then rotate the plastic cap upward and it will lock into place on the B pillar height adjustment stud(the hook). The arrow on the little black square thingy should be aimed downward. Silly simple to do but hard to explain.
The height adjustment should work without the black plastic knob. Pressing down on the stud releases the seat belt height adjustment and it can be moved up or down.
I can send pics if need be but should be easy to fix.

Hoping this pic shows my issue. It appears just this piece is broken… the part that broke off is still in the sliding mechanism and if I can catch it with a pick, I can move it and then the mechanism will slide up and down. It doesn’t seem like this piece will just fall out and I can clip a new one in can I? It doesn’t appear like I need a whole new slide either correct?

Unbolt the seatbelt and remove the leather and surround. You might need another piece of plastic in there to fix it... it slides up and down..

Looking at the parts diagram it looks like there’s only two pieces involved. The knob (which is broke) and the slide mechanism that it “clicks” into I guess? I’m just not sure how to get the old small piece of plastic that broke off in it out and the new piece in. I haven’t given it a ton of time yet as I just ordered the knob and hoping that’s all I need since my slide works if I use a pick to u lock the sliding mechanism.

Comparing your photo, the parts diagram, and my assembly, it looks like the internal part of your slide lock is broken. Not the knob. The knob is OK and still locked on the upper portion of internal part. The knob sort of rotates off of internal part with the tab that locks into the square slot in the knob.

I just recently had all of that apart while re-attaching my dropped ceiling leather and must remove the B-piller cover yet again pull the seat belt retractor for repair of the wiring that I must have broken when I disassembled all of that. Not hard to do but the three(4?) plastic retainer clips on the leather floor to ceiling cover sometimes break off but you can get replacements at O'Reillys, AutoZ, etc. I will probably do that tomorrow and will take pictures.

Search for "How to remove interior roof trim panels". The procedure it is down in the 4th post in that thread. I can send it to you if you do not find it.

So the question is if you order a knob do you get both these parts? Or is the broken part a part of the slide? See pic where I separated them. I felt like in looking at the parts diagram you get this piece as one. Would you agree?
