I’m curious what kind of fasteners are used to secure the metal panels in the front of the wheel well that give access to the headlamp buckets and heater fans? Mine are clear zinc M5 hex bolts with a 15mm fender washer, and I’m wondering if that’s correct or if they should be black to match the panel color.

    Dear mar3kl
I have same question with you! My Dino (#3662 1972 US ver.) seems using LOBO M5 hex bolts with washer. Looks to me, they were painted chassis black after they installed.
On the other hand, the inner fender panel (front and rear FRP inner panel) are installed with M5 slotted screw with washer.
I tried to find the correct fasteners for a long time, but could find only stainless steel one. Finally, I ordered steel M5 slotted screws for my inner panel!

I don't know why they'd bother to paint the fasteners black. The metal panel at the front of the front wheel well had to be installed after its rubber seals were fastened in place, so I can't imagine they would have just painted the entire wheel wells afterward since they'd have to tape off the rubber. So I'm assuming either the fasteners were clear zinc or black oxide.
