Possible smoke in the cargo hold… definite in-flight emergency. https://www.news.com.au/travel/travel-updates/incidents/qantas-flight-to-london-makes-emergency-landing-in-azerbaijan/news-story/7506eec49e9d6701ad91e08ff9161758
No prizes for guessing where I went today. I’m pretty sure it’s the first time the jet has been in there to pick up patients. Again I think it’s the first time one of our jets has landed on dirt to pick up a patient. That was the easy bit. The hard bit was getting it in and out of a tiny parking spot! It’s pretty good, but I reckon retiring at 51 and being a man of leisure hanging around in exotic locations like GI sounds alright too!
The report suggests he was in the Captain’s seat but was too busy posting to some car website to keep an eye on what First Officer Wesmond was doing…
Tragedy this afternoon on the Gold Coast. https://www.news.com.au/travel/travel-updates/incidents/two-helicopters-reportedly-crash-into-each-other-near-sea-world-on-the-gold-coast/news-story/15620308ba3c8015cdfff0538766c94f
Dumb flying. And I would expect they had a set route to follow, if they were both Sea World helicopters (not sure about that).
At least one was. Apparently one was taking off and one was landing. And yes, I would have thought there would be some sort of procedure to follow to avoid something like that happening.
Another reason I never go on these things, jet powered boats on rivers and all that ..........TOO often the one in control is a cowboy (perhaps not in this sad case )
Darwin today. After being roasted alive yesterday, today it was thunderstorms, wind and rain. Gotta love the tropics! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
