A mostly black interior with some colored highlights is far simpler and thus cheaper. That's why you're probably going to see this car built like this. But I haven't seen one or had a chance to sit in one so maybe I'm wrong?

I've posted it several times in the past, a little out of date since this was the first model year. We were interested, but the Portofino M was the better choice for my wife. One e-mail to your Maserati dealer should get you a current option list.

What's up with the Toyota though? It's heavy and underpowered and yet it came in second. It is inexpensive ...

Just watched that. Chris Harris loves it, which properly surprised me as I didn't think it was anywhere near his type of car.

Mc20 wins evo car of the year over the 296, cited as being an f40 in a world of mundane cars

    I agree :)

I thought that was interesting. It was funny how they said the McLaren was critically flawed and then just promote it to tie with the Ferrari that they essentially said was almost flawless. LOL The Maserati does seem very cool. I haven’t driven one yet.

F40? They're such very different cars other than the raw performance numbers.

I think they meant f40 in way engine behaves with big boost, loud wooshing and pops.

Evo review totally opposite throttle house who feel 296 is in different stratosphere. Frustrating that these cars are never available test drive to see what buyer likes! Crazy esp given yr long wait and 100k adm yet have no idea if you picked right car for you

Ive always been a big evo fan. It will be interesting to see how they rate the cars when they do the track car of the year.
To me the ferrari is hard to beat simply cause it looks like such a stunner, with sound to match, and on road the differences in performance between the cars is academic.

Would love to try a Mc20, the one I saw in the flesh looked big, and the ferrari is a swb car which even with electrics is no heavier. However, for 100K less, you're nto going to feel any less in the masser. GT4Rs its a street legal track car, won't work on bumpy roads, which is for me fine cause its so focused elsewhere, and if its that hard on road, maybe the wait list won't be too long. Lets see those track test's.

Meanwhile its a great pity EVO did not have a new z06 to test alongside the others, cause thats the car we really want to know where it rates in the pecking order.

Im thinking maybe one day maser will do a lightweight version of the Mc20, then we'll really have our modern f40. Yeehah

If the runner-up is a Toyota GR86, even before the McLaren and the Ferrari, I simply cannot take the MC20's first place seriously.

    Why.

For most driving on most roads the Gt86 will be a smuch fun and possibly more rewarding that the others. I think it shows regular people can buy sports cars and not miss much if anything. GT86, Civic Type R and Probably the new toyota corollaGR offer a driving experience an exotic due it its size weight and excess Hp cannot approach. On the right road any of these 3 cars will keep pace with or be quicker than and exotic and be far more rewarding to drive. Much more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow, and these new hatches are not really slow, they are light with resultant great suspension compliance and more go than can be unleashes sanely on backroads. Yeah the cabins are a low rent letdown and there is cachet only amongst those who know. To me were talking cars in the mold of the ford Rs 200 group b car.

horses for courses, its all good, just different.

Can't speak for the GR86, but do have a GR Yaris, which is a fantastic car.
Had the best road drive in years recently - much more engaging and on the limit than you'd be able to get in a supercar. Lineage of Integrale, Subarus, Evos etc, will be in my garage a long time after MC20 has gone! (and it is also very good, just not a milestone car like the Toyota)

The only thing that shocks me is they put the Mac 4th (well, technically a tie for 3rd but it was forth in the line up).

I'm not sure the Journo's are not ready for the hybrid era like they used to not be ready for the turbo era and before that the auto box era. That will change over time.

I think the Maser is controversial which is why Evo likes it. It shakes things up. And its easy on the eyes.

Very much like the Alfa 4c but with a million times better engine and 2 and a half times the power. The Alfa sounded exactly like an old turbo rally car.

I think articles like this won't help its sales but it might help keep its resale value. Its not a joke, which unfortunately some Maser's have become.

Evo is a Uk mag, so they'd be naturally biased in favor of the home team. Seems like the big drawback of the artura was the motor. Whats the point of having ICE if it sounds like a bucket of bolts. To me that was always the major drawback of the MP12-600Lt. The motors sounded awful, at best a blare, and they were not smooth either, plus lag. Artura with electrics should have no lag, but a v6 can feel turbine smooth and as the ferrai/masser show can sound great. I think this car will come into its own.

Still cant argue with the evo pick, they always prioritize how a car feels, its connectedness and rawness, MC 20 seems to have it all. Now if they could just loose 3-400lbs. How can a CF tubbed car be so heavy, by contrast the Maclaren with electrics weights so much less, and the ferrari with aluminum construction and electrics more or less the same weight. What's going on here..

Course if used values plumet like other masers, the MC20 is a serious buy.

I like this car but IMO, its overpriced which is why values will fall.

I fully agree. The car is great, but it's a big ask for a brand that has a solid reputation for plummeting values. That and the crowd now driving used Ghibli's is not exactly a crowd many want to be associated with. The Ghibli appears to have replaced the Chrysler 300

MC20 values in 7-10 years will be the indicator.

Which if the drop of other massers and some mclarens is an indication well get to 100k or less, which would then make it a worthwhile sued buy.

What it has going for it is looks. And I think it has looks that will last for some time. Looks are important in keeping "the lust" value high. And with others going hybrid and with more luxury features it might appear more old school and unique.

The question is, in 10 years would you rather have this or the Autura or 294? Depending on how many issues the hybrids have the MC20 might stand out as a star.
