From what I was told by several friends who were there this year, it already isn’t.

    That’s depressing.

One would hope these events would get better with time but sadly that isn’t happening.

Well considering that prices for general tickets have nearly doubled, I’m seriously doubting on going. Hotels in the area are already expensive as it is.

Shame on you Canossa, you’re really trying to drive people away.

Yes, sadly must spend $2100 enter/judge car PLUS another $380 wife/gf/escort as mentioned get "left out" of the VIP "events"...maybe sneak her in.:)
Lest us forget $2k (each way) transport car to FLA (I'm in NY), prep car etc 1000-1500, airline tix (w/c were cheap actually). Really only "break" is the room package (block) offered for this event....it is 50% less than "regular rates" during this time, so staying at the Breakers is 'economical'...lol.

I'm going regardless...maybe for the last time, who the f-knows. I want to have my 550B judged for the hell of it, yet was extremely put-off by the $2100 fee.
What was interesting is that one can present a 2nd car at no additional charge...guess they are tying to "stack the deck"..?

Your point here is so relevant. It's almost like they're saying if you care about the cars, don't bother coming. There's an attitude here that has nothing to do with loving the cars or the brand. Thousands of dollars for a two dollar plate of tortellini is the tip off.

I know last year there were posts here about several professional judges who were told not to come and reportedly replaced with people from Ferrari dealerships.

I fully understand wanting to have your car judged. I think you would gain greater satisfaction from having your car judged at the FCA Annual Experience.

Yes, last year's "Judge Debacle" really rubbed many the wrong way. I don't disagree reading between the lines of your post, perhaps a more "astute" class of Judges present at an FCA event, perhaps resulting a more meaningful critique of the cars.

To all who may attend.....NART Blue/Creama w/FHP Pak , #37/448, Red Book, All options plus Ecru luggage (left set at home). Please stop by to say Hi,
    Thank you, Jack

Well just to be clear, I personally know several of the judges who currently are at Cavallino and their professionalism is unquestioned.

    I wish you success Jack!

Has anyone heard what the VIP “preferred viewing areas” are yet?

I keep getting VIP sales emails mentioning it and I’m concerned that if I plunk down four bills for general admission I won’t get access to all the cars.

Are they going to rope off the front lawn? Is it just the upper viewing area from inside the Breakers? Any ideas?

I just sent them an email.
Will let you know what they say. If they rope off the upper lawn, im not buying a single ticket. Just showing up for the car lining up and driving off.

    Thank!

I’d be shocked if they did. I’ll bet they are talking about the Breakers balcony that faces west and gives a birds eye view of the front lawn.

If I do decide to go this year, where will there be parking? Does it make a difference if I bring my Ferrari?

If you aren’t a Patron you have to park across the bridge and take the shuttle.

Anyone ever participated in the tour on Friday from the Breakers to Boca along A1A...$980 (for the driver and one passenger) including lunch by the seas and "cocktails and dinner under the stars" on the Ocean Lawn. Seems almost like a bargain considering 2 tickets to Concours on Saturday are $760!

Seems like light years from the old concours at Alvernia College near Reading, PA. Sad too that these events have become "exclusive." RIP Pietro Castiglioni.

So, with last year’s abrupt expulsion of several(?) experienced, long term judges, have their invitations been renewed and if not, have any other experienced, long term fellow judge(s) shown solidarity by declining invitation(s) this year and/or all future events ?
    Just curious.
