    Absolutely agree.
I did read that "letter of the month" as well and can assure you that Enzo Ferrari has never in his life been to Leigh Sinton UK at all.
How on earth can Octane publish such crap? Complete b.s.
    Lowest of the low.

Interestingly, there is a follow up letter in the current Octane on the subject of this visit.

I'm not at home just now but will post it later.

I really meant that it makes little sense because if a French version can be financially viable, then why cannot an English version with a much larger audience? Where does the French edition get its content?

As for the subscription services, I have an idea that Octane has outsourced its subscription operations to those companies, thus my inability to contact any dedicated subscription fulfillment person at the magazine itself. It makes sense, but only if those businesses can provide good service to subscribers.

This will really grind your gears, Marcel. In today’s mail I received a renewal notice from Octane. It was mailed from…….

Well, I imagine a French version can be financially viable (assuming it is) with a lower cost base and from treating its readers and subscribers well. I assume they have all the back content of the UK Octane/Evo/Enzo to draw on. Looking at a random issue (#14) of the French Enzo, about half the content is from one or other of the three UK magazines and the other half unique.

Magazine subscription services (at least in the UK) are often outsourced to third parties although I don't know if either of the companies I linked to are involved with that side of things for Octane or anyone else.

I understand that ASENDIA is a Belgian company distributing all sorts of magazines all over Europe. Typical outsourcing.
For example: TOFM The Official Ferrari Magazine is/was also sent/distributed by Asendia. At least the TOFM copies I used to receive in the past.
No idea how Asendia really works and where they are really headquartered. FYI that "Swiss Post" stamp is self printed. Meaning anybody can print such "stamps" today. It doesn't mean that the envelope was actually really sent from Switzerland.

I like Sbarro, visited him several times, first in 1981 when I was seventeen he gave me and my mother lots of time, then just months later at a Paris show he showed my parents and I the Tag function car he made for Akkram Ojjeh (a mobile office based on a Cadillac). He created some amazing cars in the 80's and had that wild centreless wheel idea which was visually striking.

I had lunch with him about ten years ago near his base and suggested in the spirit of some of his mad ideas that he should make a car with an actual horse in a raised glass enclosed platform with a rolling mat and a system of gears. That set him laughing not at my idea but at an old memory: he comes from the very poor Italian deep south. Once as a boy he was given the task of taking a horse quite a long way. Eventually after a few hours he was surprised that it started drooling profusely and really dragging its feet and said self deprecatingly: "I did not know these things needed water!":D

When I was a kid I lusted for the Ferrari V12 engined Lola T70 road car he made but I did not know better at the time of course:)

Where can Scuderia magazine be bought? It has to be a supplier that actually delivers to Switzerland. Any leads?
    Thanks.

Seems strange that they can send books to you but not scuderia. Customs issue perhaps?

They do not have Scuderia anymore. They used to but no longer do. At least that's what Ben Horton tells me repeatedly.

You can buy individual copies of Japanese magazines from Amazon Japan (www.amazon.co.jp), including Scuderia. The publisher (www.neko.co.jp) does subscriptions but it isn't clear if or how to create an overseas subscription. The direct link to issue 139 is www.neko.co.jp/magazine/scuderia-139
