Silver flare is a really interesting color. In one direction of sunlight it is pure silver flake, in another it is a golden flake (not unlike Grigio Ingrid), and in a more shaded light it is silver with a blue tint. Looks like the video was speeded up a lot considering how close the drone came to people and flying thru tight places like the moving cart shelves.
I don't know about you guys, but I've noticed a pretty good amount of C8's now for sale on the used side. They are still going for over MSRP, but they seem to be sitting.
I went to a local boutique car dealer specializing in sports cars yesterday. They had four or five that had been marked down from $12xK to about $109k. Still over msrp but coming down. Covert has about five for sale.I’ve also seen some sprinkled at other dealers. Haven’t seen msrp, but I suspect these dealers picked them up at about msrp + tax. The boutique dealer was selling them at a loss. The sales person implied that they were bought at about $130k.
^^^ Any dealer that bought a Stingray for $30K (or more) OVER MSRP thinking they would still be able to make a resale profit is not going to stay in business long...IMO
Long live ICE!!! (Internal Combustion Engine) GM to develop 6th (VI) gen small-block https://www.thedrive.com/news/gm-confirms-a-new-small-block-v8-is-coming You would want at least a 10 yr run to make the investment worthwhile. GM wants all electric by 2035. Sooo ...... new engine intro in 2025 maaaybe (too soon?) ....... for 2026 models. current Generation V (2013–present) ... C8 Stingray LT2 incl. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Motors_LS-based_small-block_engine#Generation_V_(2013–present) .
Question is, what year does it make it into a Corvette? C8; 2020-2027? (8 model years?) ..... not until a C9? .
nothing, now. But it will eventually be surpassed by a new Gen VI small block in 5? yrs. Would GM develop a new small block and not put it in the Corvette? .
If anyone knows of a dealership here in the DFW metroplex that will sell them at or below MSRP, I would appreciate a heads up. I do not want to order one.
C9 Corvette Set For 2028 Debut for 2029 Model Year https://gmauthority.com/blog/2023/01/c9-corvette-set-for-2029-model-year-debut/ "Critically, the next-generation C9 Corvette will feature internal combustion for motivation, and will not be directly related to the upcoming Corvette EV sedan and Corvette EV crossover currently in development. C9 will be a 'revised' C8, not a clean sheet design. So, C8 production is 2020-2028. ..... that's 9 model years >>> with 9 model years, I'm surprised they came out with the Z06 so soon. >>> ZR1 in 2025? Zora in 2027 or last year '28? .
9 model years for the C8? that's a looong run. Too long without a mid-cycle refresh. in '25? (so, a 4 yr run for refresh) .
"GMAuthority"...similar to "Partial nuclear disarmament" or "almost pregnant" They have NOTHING to do with GM (except the name) and do not have insider knowledge and are wrong most of the time I take everything they say with a boulder sized grain of salt.
Reality is that a C8 sitting on a dealer's lot just about anywhere in the country is going to have a markup above MSRP on it. The only way to get MSRP is to order. No one is discounting the car...why should they? Here's the Top 100 Corvette dealers for CY2021. Chances are if a dealer is on this list, he's selling at MSRP. I've bought 2 new Vettes from Mike Furman at Criswell in Maryland at MSRP. One I picked up at the factory and drove west. The other I shipped west because it was the peak of Covid. From Bowling Green to DFW is a one day drive. My suggestion is find a dealer selling cars and then do factory delivery. ANY dealer in the USA can sell you a car. The question is allocation and price. Criswell has always sold at MSRP which is why they are one of the top 3 in Vette sales.
Since the Purosangue is so popular here on Chat, next up is a Vette based SUV. https://www.carscoops.com/2023/02/2026-corvette-electric-suv-heres-everything-we-know-and-hope-for/#Echobox=1677446086 Image Unavailable, Please Login
