I wish it was that easy. Here in Canada, my Ferrari dealer will not warranty anything to do with the motor if I change the exhaust. In fact, they told me that Ferrari will always seem to find a way to void the warranty for aftermarket items, so I am left with no choice but to buy a car that sounds great right off the showroom floor

In the sense that Roma, Monza are classic designs and will stand the test of time like good wine.
This could also have been the case for the 296 because the rear is magnificent, but they chose the wrong front from all the choices offered.

Of course everyone had his//her opinions. I agree with you about the Monza, it will age well. The Roma is a great car but I can’t shake the Aston Martin vibe, as pretty as it is. The 296 is great minus the front. The interior however is extremely uninspiring. Not being a negative Nelly, it just seems these days we can’t get a complete car that fires on all cylinders design/interior wise.

Roma may be more of a classic design but for some reason I just didn’t like the car at all. Was given one for a couple of days by my dealer. For me, the car has no personality and while the exterior certainly has flowing graceful lines, they don’t grab or excite the way you see on some other cars. Bland is how I would describe the Roma - but that’s just my personal view. I do agree with a point you made earlier, as ICE cars disappear, it will be a big challenge for Ferrari surviving in a world of EVs. Will be interesting to see how they navigate trying to be a luxury brand in that market!

They sure did. I suspect they will fix that in the VS.

But will they do it correctly this time and get rid of those God-awful buttresses.........there is no excuse (other than laziness or frugality) for a front engine car to have those abominations......ie Aston's Volantes and MB's SLs......

Where might one catch a glimpse of the rejected front?

I think it refers to the 296 front?

On the 296, there was a team at the rear and another at the front.
The rear is ok, but the front is completely missed, and among the other choices, there were better...

I think design reached its zenith just before the 458(even PF could mess up cars- the 458 front overhang was Jimmy Durante in size with a Groucho Marx mustache added for good measure ). It has been hit and miss since the design team went internal. Most hits are singles (SF90)or doubles (296) and a rare triple(Pista). No home runs except for the Monza and TdF. Last Grand Slam was La Ferrari.
For regular production cars there is no recent stem to stern perfectly designed Fcar- each one has a wart or two.
How about the return of a rear midengine regular production V12? A modern interpretation of the BB?
You might even get me to part with my GTS to get that one.

I think the only mid engined interpretation of the V12 will be Icona,..We already have one with the SP3…Sadly no regular production model…

The SP38 Deborah had some design elements that were present on 296 GTB, will the F167 have some design elements from the Omologato perhaps?

F-Cars are about to losing their soul.
    Technicalwise. Designwise.
Off the shelf infotainment, operation systems , Hybrid, modular chassis elements. Investors development.
Mobile computers and power distribution systems,
It’s better to live with the state of 458, 488 and 812 species. Easy going and honest technology.

My 'read' is the SP5 will be a front engine (yes, behind axle as always) V12 using same underlying frame and engine as F167 platform, honoring some similarly arranged model...(just like the Monza SP1/SP2 were based on the 812 platform)....so now we 'know' the SP5 will be such a construction, to help offset the costs and expenses of the F167, probably one of the reasons the F167 is continuing to move forward because it will ultimately be the basis for a separate model.
