There’s probably an increasing reliance on AI to do the editing function. This could be due to laziness or a perceive cost savings. If you can hold the world’s knowledge in your hand, why keep any of it in your brain? Unfortunately, the lack of brain function also leads to an inability to reason and to understand, and that’s when it gets dangerous.

Don't worry: Gerald Roush used to say punctuation is not for me when editing my articles and I would answer it's like brakes, only slows down your flow:D

    Punctuation is important…..

The sad thing is that nowadays so many supposedly educated people would stare blankly at your post and not have a clue about the difference...decadence in progress...

I'm a bit surprised to read so much praise for Keith Bluemel's book on the F40... Indeed, it's a fine book, going into technical and racing detail, but I was disappointed that other parts of the F40's history were skipped over, such as the car's design.
Although it doesn't go into as much detail and is less appealing as an object, I found Giorgio Nada's book on the F40 'supercars' more enjoyable to read for someone who wants an overview of the car, not a bolt by bolt or race by race description.
Well, still happy to have both of them.

I'm not sure this one have been covered here :

It's nothing more than a compilation of photos, and you won't learn much from reading it, but I really enjoyed it. I think the way it's organised, following the circuit corner by corner, illustrating each one with a dozen photos of different races and car types, is quite clever. It's not a book about Ferrari, but you'll definitely find a lot of Ferrari photos in it!

I also received this one. It is a translation of a recently published French book. I haven't had time to read it yet, but at first sight it looks very attractive.
All the F1 and sports car races from 1960 to 1965 are told in detail, with summaries, full results and nice pictures by Bernard Cahier.
The layout is more modern than usual for Evro, reminding a bit of Porter's books (this is in fact the layout of the original book published by ETAI, there is no difference between the two editions).
I usually only keep this kind of racing history books for reference, but this one really makes me want to read it...

It is a nice book with some new photos. Have you noticed the new books have color printing that is not as good as the older books. We have taken a step back on quality. Some color photos almost look like the print on demand books.

Well I'm not sure about why and when it started, but being in the magazines industry, I can tell you printing is a HUGE issue nowadays with the explosion of the costs of paper, inks and energy, so I guess everyone is trying to survive by doing the best they can under these conditions. And we should be grateful to the publishers who still offer books at reasonable prices.
Every time I get a new batch of Enzo issues, I have no idea what the colours will look like (sometimes they are very dark, which works well with a certain type of paper, but not with another, sometimes they are too pale, which is a shame...), and sometimes I even get surprises with the quality of the paper.

By the way, if any of you visit Retromobile and are interested in the Evro 1960-1965 book, I would be very happy to exchange my new copy with another book (I don't need it as I also have the French edition)...

No doubt, it's lovely. Having said that, the usual Horton's pricing caveats apply, as illustrated by the similar example linked below at less than a third of the price. They are both signed by roughly the same drivers, the only difference being that the cheaper copy is also signed by Enzo Ferrari.

I have just received an email about the Girardo 550 Maranello Prodrive book which says:
"...On 1 February 2023, orders will open. And concurrently on the Girardo & Co. stand at Salon Rétromobile in Paris, visitors will be granted an exclusive preview of the hotly-anticipated book, in addition to a chance to ogle the Le Mans-winning chassis CRD06 in the metal, alongside 12 other exquisite road and competition Ferraris..."

There is more information here https://girardo.com/the-550-prodrive-book/

However, I am a little confused as the page in the link says "...the book tells the story of the car over 400 pages..." whereas the email says "...two-volume, 570-page book...". I know 570 is over 400 but...

No mention of the price as yet (or of any limit on how many are being printed). Who would like to hazard a guess?

In spite of having twice sent in the “expression of interest” email I’ve yet to receive any correspondence. As to price, I’m going to guess >£800. Having owned a couple of 550s, I’ll be tempted.

Girardo's exclusive preview takes place Tuesday 31st January from 7 pm to 10 pm on the Girado stand at Retromobile where about 12 Ferraris will be presented as well.
(All this according to the official invite I received last week Friday 20th Jan.)

According to the mail I received, there will also be a "meet the author" session with Keith Bluemel at 3 pm on Feb. 1st (as far as I understand, Feb. 1st is the first full public day of Retromobile, Jan 31st being the "Avant-Première" day, probably also for press / private events as is usual for motor shows).

I registered twice as well for information about the book, but never received any information either.

Two other mails of mine related to other topics haven't been answered as well by Girardo. Maybe, with just 40 years of Ferrari experience, I don't qualify for information ...

Keith Bluemel and DK Engineering seem to have a passionate affair with each other ;) as this is the second book in a brief period coming from their co-operation (the other being Porter Press's F40 book).
