Here's a more complete judges list: Savina Confaloni, anchorwoman. Natalie LaFevre - digital expert, ocean conservationist and travel/sustainability journalist. Plus Justin Tse - 25 year old entrepreneur in technology, lifestyle, and home content creator. I wonder if Greta is coming as well? Marcel Massini
Have you ever visited Ferrari? Reason I ask is they have always viewed themselves as a very youthful company. One of the reasons I was so surprised when Sergio Marchionne was made President. He definitely did not fit what their vision of what the company represents. I remember being there for a school when I was 45. During the whole week there I only saw one guy who might have had more candles in his cake than me.
I wonder to what extent this special judge will even be judging.....perhaps for appearance sake. My view is there is what I refer to as the traditional Ferrari enthusiast/owner, the one who has passion for the company, note company not "brand" and its history and strives to learn about that history and the significance of it. I consider myself to be one of these people and my impression of Cavallino has always been an event where largely people who understand the history of the company gather with those who want to understand the history. The wold changes, social media, marketing all these aspects perhaps interfere with a traditional view of Ferrari but they do not interfere with history. I was fortunate to have a very charismatic Ferrari mentor and anyone who attended a Presidents meeting would in all probability never forget meeting this gentleman because he really lived Ferrari (and because his booming voice could be hear from a long way away) Is including a special judge a good idea, in my view not but then again perhaps the idea is to broaden the social media side of the event to attract attention, marketing, like it or not we cant hide from it but what those of us who live the passion that is Ferrari can do is make sure this history lives on, stories are told, cars are seen, cars are heard and knowledge is shared because you never know, that special judge might just attract one person who wants to know more, wants to understand and discovers Ferrari history.
Honorary judges are the norm but have in the past been persons of some importance in the Ferrari world. A Ferrari executive, a member of the Pininfarina family, Simone Schedoni, someone like that. Not lifestyle influencers.
That sounds like a Disney movie. I’d be very surprised if the presence of a couple of minor celebrities sells any admission tickets, especially at these prices.
Agreed, however there is clearly some lifestyle marketing social media angle involved here. Not saying its right but in today's world it is inevitable in my opinion.
this will be easy to test. we'll monitor his social media, how many posts related to the event and how many views it generates.
I find it odd they are collaborating with these social media people (who have no car background) yet they aren’t working with Fchat. You’d think it would be a given since you are both under the same umbrella?
yes, I'm not sure. we have shared an article and posted on our social media. they have also done the same thing with DuPont who has millions of followers. so they get that for free. I hope they're not paying this guy, simply invite him with a free ticket and hopefully he posts something. That is the modern "influencer" model. if they are just trying to get high end cars to enter, then they are probably just doing that through their Canossa contacts and Ferrari. if they are trying to get spectators to buy tickets, then FerrariChat would be a good medium, but I don't think that's a big goal for them. I think they are targeting a massive amount of eyeballs that won't increase demand to enter cars or sell tickets, but will give some of their sponsors more exposure. I'll be able to get a good read on the value after the event looking at his social posts.
I wish they’d post a teaser of some entrants or a list. 24 hours of Daytona is also that weekend. Hard decision as I’m a track rat at heart.
Ferrari and the CLUB are on the right track. Follow ANY other brand besides Porsche and you know what's happening? Nothing, they are all dying off as the government is controlling their strings. Anyone go to a Jaguar concourse lately, Corvette Nationals? My beloved Aston Martin. They are dying old brands across the board. With dying old people. If you were at Pebble last year or the Breakers, the theme is steady, ENJOY LIFE, ENJOY YOUR CAR, IF YOU WANT SOMETHING WE WILL MAKE IT! Ferrari and PORSCHE will be the only 2 companies left with some sort of romance and choice. Those are the facts..... Go to a F1 race the crowds are SO YOUNG! ,They don't watch baseball or football, why? It all went P.C. Ferrari will be building GASOLINE ENGINES forever as the electric SCAM is already starting to crumble. Im a Ferrari club member, Im not on any board , I dont want to be..... They are BUSINESS people like ME , run the shop and make it go! Im retired, let me walk around and enjoy, Let the young ones move it forward. In 5 years, Aston, Jaguar and 4 door Corvettes will all be dead as we know it. Ferrari will live on for a long , long time. SPEND YOUR MONEY NOW BOYS AND GIRLS..........BEFORE THEY TAKE IT ALL AWAY...... GTJOEY1314 IN MY PRESSED PINSTRIPE SUIT , HOPEFULLY DOING VILLA DESTE AS WELL. Hope to see all of you in 2 weeks!
Any one of the “influencers” listed would wear Ferrari’s atrocious ****ing clothing line loud and proud while virtually none of us would even use them for shop rags. They’re not catering to us… bringing sand to the beach. This is about expanding the brand, not catering to their enthusiasts.
So far justin.tse hasn't posted about Cavallino yet, he has been tagged once I see. an entire 47 likes on this Cavallino post he was tagged! heck, FerrariChat gets 30-50 likes a post and we only have 2,000 followers. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I completely understand their desire to use influencers to create a buzz and expand the brand but I question the particular ones they aligned with. When you look at their profiles and their followers it would seem their audience is not likely at all to be interested, hence the poor engagement. IMO there are many other better influencers that could have been leveraged.
Imagine that, I just got my invite! No I won't be judging, just covering. I'm excited, have everything booked.
As Asia "just has not become the market they hoped for".....very odd choosing an Asian "influencer" here in America....
does anyone have a list of SN's that are supposed to be there? I would love to research a little before I go. thanks.
