    Hello,

My 308 was missing the tool kit strap and bracket when I purchased it back in 2009. I finally got fed up with the tool kit being tossed back and forth in the trunk while driving, so I'm on a mission to get the tool kit secured properly. I was able to secure a strap on ebay, so I have that installed...but I now need the bracket which appears to be riveted in? I searched the threads and below is the best picture I found. Anybody know how to get this part? I can't seem to find a part number on it... maybe it needs to be custom made? Also if someone has this installed maybe you share some specs, in case I need someone to make it? Thanks in advance. (photo credit goes to user 'stonker')

There is a price shown but no stock at Maranello Classic. They were used up to mid production 328 and in many flat 12 cars.

That type of bracket is called a footmans loop. Use that as your Google search term and you should get many useful hits.

I'd check with Russ at FerrParts for a salvage one.

My OM depicts the small roll inside the spare, but the jack bag in the rear trunk.

I knew that I saw one or the other/both in a picture somewhere with them located in the front, now that you mention it that’s probably where I saw it. Regardless, that is where I have always kept mine. Helps with weight distribution as well, lol.

I have mine in the same place got some Belts drilled 2 1/4” holes in the fibreglass walls and used plastic push clips to hold the Belts after you cut them to length

In a later production 328 we have no choice because there was no strap in the trunk. However in a 328 both kits stow neatly down in front under the overhang and need no retention because they will not move unless you roll the car. Been doing it for decades.

I would rather put them on the small shelf in the rear held by the strap though. It saves a lot of precious space. I actually go on trips in ours and the tool/jack kits use too much really valuable space and in the trunk without the retention strap they crash around and put dents in the rear fenders.

I have always wished they had kept the strap but for some unknown reason it was discontinued around May 87.

And very shortly after that they came up with a much better idea.
