A friend has a new 3D printer and has made some high quality replacement parts for our cars. I’m wondering if anyone has tried to print a hood release housing? Bill at GT car parts had some made from aluminum but no stock.

Just put one of these in my car from Maranello UK. Looked identical (minus the dislodged hinge pin in the original). Other than the blind screw engagement, no issues.

I always thought that if someone could do an air box with one of those printers it’s would be great! The stock ones must weigh a 100 lbs!

They're custom made for various builds. We've been talking about doing stock replacement but to utilize larger TB. Or just a direct swap if one wanted. The catch is cost, a printed manifold is ~$3k USD. Printing is still pricey.

3D printing has come a long way and there's now the ability to print finished working products, however as with anything in this sector the material cost is still high.

Did this solve the air balance between the cylinders?

This particular design does improve it, to really fix it would require each bank to have it's own manifold. Ala 348 and onward.
