    Here's a few photos made by my service specialist last year. While the 550 was in for a service a same spec F12 was for sale there. I know the previous owner of the 550 always lusted for an F12, and when I told them hem might love a photo of them together, they e-mailed me these.

    Ps. Yes I know the black wheel is not for everyone, I purchased it like this from an owner whom has had it as father to son from new. I have a second set that is original, but since the F1 Scuderia also had black wheels for her 2022 racer, I decided to keep the black ones on a little longer. This car was originally purchased from factory by his father, and stayed in Italy close to the factory for years. About ten years ago when the father passed the son moved the car to NL. He made some modifications (Tubi, sports cat, wheel and caliper color), other than that the car is immaculate. Black leather with red carpet interior, I Love it.

    Grigio Ingrid (Champaign - it really grew on me) and when I had my wheels fixed in conjunction with my purchase that’s when my mechanic had suggested the charcoal gray wheel color like the 458 which with this car color I really prefer the darker wheels.

    i didn’t post about it this morning (didn’t want to jinx it)….but I’ve been sick to my stomach with nerves because today was my CA smog appointment….. and I have no CEL’s or reason to believe it would not pass but my life is so busy I just don’t even have time to enjoy the car and if I got a failed smog that level of shenanigans would be a major bummer.

    This photo continues to be one of my favorites.

    Mine finally passed (blasted secondary air monitors) on the very evening my registration was set to expire.

    I love California….and I hate the smog requirements.

    Can’t I get bonus credits for having our two main dailies being electric? ;-). I can use those electric car positive vibes for offsets on the 550 and for my diesel ‘92 7.3L turbo 4x4 tow rig!

    Aftermarket exhaust won’t bang you at all on CARB as long as you don’t throw a code.

    I do not even have mufflers.

    Dont you still have to pass a visual inspection? I thought that was part of the game there too? Or is it just with emissions equipment?

    There was no visual. My mechanic sorted everything on it emissions related sparing no expense, I straight-up passed too, no games. Knock on wood. He also runs a 456M with a CARB cert so he knew how challenging passing could be. We took no chances and my muffler deletes never came up. The SMOG spot just plugged it in and called it a day my wife tells me.

    Also…
    Someone simply needs to “put the data out” for some passing 456M secondary air monitors. Without getting into it, I can personally guarantee that it is possible to pass CARB on ANYTHING as long as there are enough like models on the road and the “data” is available - where people keep and share such data. I do not know any specifics at all but it was explained to me by a guy I see every two years regardless.
