Shouldnt this go in the 308 section? its a 308 GT4 dino :)

Cool pictures though, I like the car but you're right, the wheels look a bit off.

Supposed to be some cool story that goes along with the car, something like Elvis saw the car and said it was the most beautiful he had seen and had to buy it. I cant remember exactly.

the wheels are supposedly original. i own the original warranty book for this car and it doesn't indicate one way or the other.

    James,
Good question regarding the location of the post. I saw "GT4" so, I put it in the 365 GT4 spot.
Not sure how to swich it.... if it fits/flows better in the 308 slot.

Rob Lay... Do with as you would like.
    Regards,
    Tom

The wheels are original... A lot of cars from the period (246s and 308s) have these wheels....

Looks like a Euro bumper with reverse lights built in and US bumper end caps? ODD

The wheels may not be original to that car but the are original Ferrari wheels that could have been ordered (maybe by the dealer etc.) Those are Ferrari wire wheels...

Where was that picture taken? I wonder how many miles are on that car....Elvis was not alive much longer to really enjoy it.

I don't see no end caps. Looks like a Euro bumber to me (looks just like mine)

But what's the story on those tail pipes? Curved DOWN???

    Hans

P.S. Personally, I don't think that borrani wire wheels look good on anything newer than a Daytona, but I guess there's no arguing over taste...

When new #10074, Elvis' car, was imported and distributed by Modern Classic Motors in Nevada.
Hans, US cars can be a bit strange. The original exhaust on a US series 1 GT4 had tailpipes that curved down. There was a Factory Tech Revision issued which told the dealers to slip a false tailpipe over the original one. See below.

I have a better picture of this car but its at the winery. I'll post it when I get there today.

I see what appear to be end caps....

Those tail pipes curving down are seriously ugly

    Agreed....

This was right before Elvis died.... Are we even sure he could fit in this car by then? He was huge...

I know this is an old thread, but does anyone know who was the original owner of 10074? And how Elvis came to own it? And was it originally black, or did the King repaint it?

    Not repainted. Born black.
    First owner Robert Sinclair.
Post #1 answers your question re Elvis being the original owner or not. It is clearly stated that Elvis bought it used. Suggest to read entire thread.

Thanks for the info, Marcel! I knew Elvis wasn't the first owner, as you noted that is pointed out in the first post and I think that's pretty widely known. I was just wondering who the original (first) owner was—the person Elvis bought it from (I didn't ask if Elvis was the original owner, I asked if anyone knew who the original owner was). But, was also curious how Elvis came to own the car. Did he randomly see it at a dealer, on the street? Was it a car he sought out? Did someone suggest it to him? That may be something nobody knows or remembers.

To give you context, I had read a comment in a completely unrelated forum (from someone claiming to be the wife of the original owner) that Elvis painted the car black (which I didn't think was true) and that he bought in 1978, not 1976 (which would be impossible since Elvis died in 1977). I just like knowing the real stories of cars, especially significant/special cars.
