Hello Guys, iam Marvin from Germany and new here and hope someone can help me with my problem.

In another forum say someone to me go here to the Ferrari Chat and u found a solution.
@eric355 was one of the names there called to me. Maybe u read this :)

    So now my Problem.

I bought a Barnfound 360 Modena Spider from 2002. This Ferrari stay sadly there the last 10 years.
So iam ready to give him a second life.

My problem is , both Engine ECUs doesnt work. I send the Ecus to a repair shop and the shops says, one of them has a Water inside an doenst work and the other one is irraperable. So normaly i need 2 new ECUS.

Is there a possibilty someone can fix the ECU? Or i can used a used ECU? So that doesnt work because the immobilzer make some problems right ?

So is there any possibility to repair or flashed used ECU? Can someone help me?
I dont want to buy new one by the dealer.
THX a lot and sorry for my bad english

    Best regards Marvin

    Hello Marvin.
Congratulations for your 360 and good luck getting it back on the road after 10 years of inactivity.

As you have discovered, the repairability of these ECUs is very poor. As far as I know, and I did it once, only the famous capacitor unsoldering can be repaired.

Used ECUs can be used, no problem. They can be easily reflashed to suit your car (euro vs US, F1 vs manual, ...) and the immobilizer data can be reset so that the right one will pair with your car at first switch ON.
Only problem is to find a pair of good used ECUs.

I would check with Rod Drew at FAI in Costa Mesa California. He may have spares. He repairs and reflashes many Ferrari components.

Welcome to Ferrari ownership. You really need to get new pair (or refurbished pair) of virgin ECU in order for it to marry up to your immobilizer. Maybe the Costa Mesa outfit can supply a set, but it is going to be pricey. Convertible top sitting around for 10 years, my guess is you are starting on a slippery slope. Best of luck to you.

Yes, I can do that (reflash to have same good S/W version in both ECUs + reset of immo data)

Good luck with your 360 recovery/resurrection!

If you are going to use Eric to clone ECUs please make sure the firmware is the exact correct version as simply using any old flash or one from the same MY isn't sufficient or you'll be chasing phantom unfixable CELs for ever. If you don't have the fobs or the immobilizers are also bad it may be worth deleting the entire system too.

If your flash isn't recoverable or readable and Eric doesn't have the exact version you can pm me and we can get it sorted out. I have every single version on file and it runs into 106+ versions.

I'd also advise to delete many of the common failure point components like cat ECUs on this car , maybe even the evap and (depending on model year and country of origin) other systems which I can advise you on. I've got thousands of man hours in on ECUs so you'd be hard pressed to find anyone else with more experience on them.

How can I find out which version is on my ecu? Number on the backside ? Maybe we can do this together to find a solution for my problem thx guys iam happy to hear that

    best regards
