I believe this is not quite accurate. I am informed that the Purosangue suspension does feature a lifter (Im still waiting for 100% confirmation, but my info source is pretty reliable). Thats what I was getting at- which is- it seems they can now do these next gen systems with a lifter (one of the current deficiencies, in the eyes of some people, of the current AF pack on the 296 and SF90). I think you are right about how it works, but supposedly it's also scanning the road ahead and allows it to slightly anticipate bumps and other road irregularities. The test will be how it compares to the Lusso with the Magnaride. My own guess is it will be considerably better. As to the term revolutionary- it's a relative term. But I do think the suspension in the 296 is a big step forward.
Thank you for posting. The document is very complet Thank you very much for sharing this excellent file. The documentation is comprehensive, covers all the technical areas of the Purosangue and the information is the most complete I have had access to so far. The chapter on the Purosangue's aerodynamics has so far deserved my greatest attention, as it is a subject that interests me particularly. It explains in great detail the functioning of the different aerodynamic mechanisms of the car like no other.
When I buy I like to know the detail so I ask for all the info on the particular car - this PDF is typical of some of the info.
This table taken from DavidJames1 link shows what the standard Purosangue offers in comparison to the more direct competitors models. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Marcel is correct. I only have 296 GTS as not interested in GTB and 812 only have SF https://www.dropbox.com/s/y29iepth8u74n18/NP%20-%20296%20GTS.pdf?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/tsqylxg51bbwkyh/Product_Communication_nr14__812superfast_07032017.pdf?dl=0
I am pleasantly surprised to see all of those quality standard options included into the $400k base price. The base Purosangue is much better equipped than my old $420k GTC4Lusso. Adjusted for inflation, it seems like a bargain. LOL I took the allocation and looking forward to getting the car.
Here is a good test for me. I happened by the NYC showroom the other day and I was able to go see the Purosangue. I didn't know it was there, I just turned the corner, and there it was. First time seeing it without people around, and my honest very first reaction was: I love it. I think thats what they call "mission accomplished"
So here's the thing on the suspension. A company that developed some of this tech pitched me about 8 years ago to invest (or have my fund invest). Even then, I can tell you that the tech was in fact "revolutionary". since then they've solved most of the major issues that plagued it 8 years ago (for example the cars I drove you could hear the components working and they had a bunch of work to control the sounds the system made... which were quite loud). I tracked them for years and drove multiple years worth of versions of the system, but the deal never made sense for other reasons despite the tech being incredible. My understanding is that the programming they went with on the PureBlood is very conservative vs what you can do. They aren't for example leaning the car in to turns which you can do (drop inside corners lift outside). I drove a BMW 5 series tuned all the way to lean max in to corners and it felt like you turned a 5 series in to a sport bike. The system can go on EVs to reverse the energy usage and charge batteries based on the motion on the car instead of using energy. (think eco mode vs sport, one generates power one perfects the ride) with a fully tuned car I hit a speed bump at 45 mph and barely felt it. For luxury cars they tuned the suspension to match the resonance of a train instead of a car so you can actually read in the back without the same level of car sickness. I'm telling you, some of the suspension tech coming is very exciting but significantly alters the way cars feel so my guess is that the OEMs will ease in to it.
At the end of an intense and thrilling 24 Hours at Spa-Francorchamps on 31 July 2022 the five Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020s competing in the great Ardennes classic claimed two victories and one podium place. This time the Purosangue arrived at the Francorchamps area not to compete but I guess to make someone a very happy owner. This chart is not accurate, some of those options shown as std for the PS are not. i.e. Carbon roof, matrix headlights. Not to mention most colors are now additional costs. I spec'd mine yesterday, probably looking at late 23' or early 24' delivery.
Thanks a lot for sharing, impressive detailed technical information. If someone has similar for the SF90SPIDER, I would much appreciate to share with me.
My dealer managed to send me the one for the 296GTB https://www.dropbox.com/s/rus2iabyiepjs9v/296%20GTB_Product%20Information.pdf?dl=0
