Yep - this no reserve on Collecting Cars, so it will sell this time. I haven't seen a 348 on any auction site in UK that has cracked £55,000. If my money still wasn't tied up, I would personally bid that 348.
I think the problem in this kind of situation is that they probably designed and build the chassis first and then styled the car around using the Alfa 33 as a theme. But I 100% agree about proportions. This is where I think Fioravanti was a genius - he really understood the importance of proportions, as all the greatest designers do.
We don't have a motorcycle thread so it's here. Oh Wow! https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-01-26/vintage-motorcycle-collection-vincent-ian-boyd/101891250
Whilst not original,it certainly fits the bill for a proper...short...enthusiast,for not a lot of dosh: https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/1971-lotus-europa-s2-manual/SSE-AD-14255817/?Cr=3
Shannons have one but looks rough https://auctions.shannons.com.au/auction/lot/lot-1972-volvo-p1800es-estate-wagon/?lot=202&so=0&st=&sto=0&au=11&ef=&et=&ic=False&sd=0&mc=5&pp=96&pn=1&g=1
Take one for a drive...a looooooong drive, before you pull the trigger! Make sure you include some range/corner work when you do. Oh by the way,all the red badges are bullshoit...never on 'em when built.
......and this colourchange coupe. https://auctions.shannons.com.au/auction/lot/lot-1964-volvo-1800s-coupe/?lot=258&so=0&st=&sto=0&au=11&ef=&et=&ic=False&sd=0&mc=5&pp=48&pn=1&g=1
It’d be ok for the breakfast runs we do. I don’t think I could do a long trip without proper air conditioning
Not that one. Once it has rust forward of the front of the doors it goes to the firewall and downward to the sills and ultimately the subframe,a real nightmare and prohibitive to repair.
It's a way better option than the ES. They are very heavy on the steer and it'll remain in the shed on hot days as you swelter with no A/C and not powerfull enuff to power an aftermarket system.
Greg if you really want to get fairdinkum I'll give you Gerry Lister's phone number,he will likely know every car you're looking at and will give you a drive of his.
Wow, those gauges look stunning. Using the photos as sole reference, looks unusually good value given the price vs condition. Am I missing something here?
Not exactly the best interior I've seen in an Europa. I'm 6ft 1 (185 cm) and I could easily fit into an Europa. How tall are you Simon?
