This was The Shota in FiDi. The one named Omasake is on Townsend in the Design District, is that the one you mean? I've been to that one, all wood, very traditional, totally different vibe from Shota both are great though.

I can top that shameful Q experience! [emoji6]

I tried vegetarian bbq today; jackfruit to be specific. Looked like pulled pork. Mouth feel was a bit off; not as much chew s pork. It wasn't bad in flavor. Would have been better if it was a spicy as they claimed, but it was tepid heat at best.

Can I say the scallops we have here come with the roe, only the imported ones dont as you can't freeze the roe.

If you are able to get them straight out of the bay ask for the roe. It is so so good.

Tonight...on the fly...Italian is so user friendly. Cioppino...olive oil, 2 cloves fresh garlic, Italian organic canned whole tomatoes, course ground French sea salt, fresh ground black pepper, pinch of dried red pepper, pinch of saffron, two table spoons of dried parsley, a teaspoon of oregano, several big leaves of fresh basil, a cup of white wine, 6 clams, 6 mussels, 6 shrimp, 4 jumbo scallops, 1 lobster tail...takes about 1/2 hour to prep (not counting the additional half hour to soak the mussels and clams), and a 1/2 hour to cook. Clams and mussels go in first and when they've all opened, then the lobster tail and shrimp, and last the scallops. A small green salad before, a baguette with the Cioppino. The rib eyes came in a pack of two. Cooked the second last night and made a steak sandwich. Forgot the pic.

(very) lazy night, PB&J (we had some homemade strawberry jam from the neighbors, so I slathered that on pretty thick).

Oh, and plain pringles (and "yes" there are pringles in the sammy peaking out).

File this one under "my wife makes weird **** sometimes"...

Barley with some spices and roasted veggies (red onion, okra, carrots and peas) and sautéed chicken on top.

otoh, file this one under "my wife makes yummy stuff sometimes"...

Polish street food called Zapiekanka...basically baguette "pizza" with mushrooms and spicy polish ketchup, polish sausage, gouda cheese and chives. Yummy!

darn, I forgot the mise-en-place picture in my post above! I sorta laughed when I took it due to the short list of ingredients and how "very Polish" they are :D

    So adding it now.
