Thank you Steve Magnusson for making my Ferrari ownership experience enjoyable!

Difficult to count all the times when battling Ferrari repairs I was puzzled, covered in grime with bloody knuckles and cheap tools.

Having exhausted all options & no where else to turn, Steve swoops in to save the day by giving his genius of well researched engineering knowledge with patient, thorough, precise and straight to the point guidance.

I want to salute you Steve Magnusson for your years of commitment so far and looking forward to many more!

There are outstanding members of Fchat that deserve mentioning such as Rifledriver, Birdman & far more so I am sure a few stories from members of this great community saluting people like Steve for solving our problems will be fun to read.

    Who helped you?

@yelcab has been invaluable to me! First because I bought my F355 from him when I lived 500 miles away and he was a very honest and helpful seller (and total stranger at the time). And now for the past 2 years since I moved to the Bay Area and he has welcomed me in his driving group, provides constant assistance and advice for my DIY work and perhaps most importantly because he actually fixes all the problems on my car that I don't have the skills for (which is quite a lot!)

I deeply appreciate the help and friendship!

Robb has been a great friend to me especially after my accident. Initially I think I helped talk him into his first Ferrari, a knockout silver 328 that he and his son picked up at Motorcars in Missouri and drove home. He's an ace professional photographer and did some terrific shoots of my cars, and then visited again when I was in rough shape. Also has great taste in watches. I'm getting married next month, and Robb and wife were top of my guest list.

Thank you Rudy. But my vote goes to Steve Magnusson. I run out of fingers when I count the times he got me out of trouble. Not many here knows how to explain the symbol of the windshield wiper on the wiring diagram, or the correct connection for the Testarossa o2 sensors. When it comes to tuning CIS components, his knowledge is deep and wide. Someday, he needs to pass on his stack of documents, and his knowledge of all things Ferrari before he retires from Ferrari life.

I also want to acknowledge Rifledriver as well as several professional Ferrari mechanics for their contributions to the technical contents of fchat. Their combined knowledge and advice get you there 95% of the time, and the remaining 5% you just have to pay with your skinned knuckles.

Now if anyone can tell me how they removed a Mondial T power steering rack from the car without cutting up the trunk ...

You don't need to cut up the trunk...just remove the rest of the car. Voila! there it is!

There's too many names to mention...many have helped me without even knowing it as I have a 308, a tr, and a 360 and there is plenty of discussion of these models. However a few special mentions are in order. Paul Newman has proven to be the "Real McCoy" and is my 'go to' for my 308 and tr. He won't rob you blind or ******** you and he has passed the test of time as I've dealt with him for about 10 years. If I need to learn something it's as easy as picking up the phone. So thanks for all the help over the years Paul! I know there are many others here of Pauls' caliber and a sincere thank you to all of you for your willingness to share what you know with schmucks like me. The other regular (among many) on here that earns a special mention is Rifledriver. It goes without saying that he knows his stuff and then some but for sheer entertainment value, he is matchless. A spade is a spade is a spade and I like that immensely. The world we all share is so full of crap nowadays it is most refreshing to read his, "occasionally very frank), commentary. For this Mr. Crall gets my inaugural "Fermudgeon" award. Cheers to all!

I've had several guys help me out over the past 15 or so years I've been here ...

    1) Copterjon - probably my first "contact" here - he gave me a bunch of tips and showed me around at the "Cars & Coffee" in Scottsdale, AZ. Very nice guy and very helpful. For a few years, we met there every year when I'd fly in for vacation from MN.

    2) AugustXKE - from MN. He was nice enough to allow me to drive down to his home, give me a ride in his Scuderia, and then test drive his 997.2 GT3 - I was in the market for one and bought one shortly thereafter.

    3) Darth550 - have had many chats on the phone with him and he also hooked me up with several watches. We still need to do dinner.

    4) JAM1 - bought a watch from him and have been texting now and again ever since. Also need to do drinks or lunch the next time I'm in Florida.

    5) SLM - Most recently - was a huge help planning my next motorcycle trip to Arkansas ( go to Arkansas section and check out his routes :)).

    6) One more - BOKE - we were going through gun values - very helpful.

This is a pretty great website - if you ask for help, it sure seems like you can get it.

That's extremely kind of you (and Mitchell) to say. I very much like discussing, and learning, about the problems that others are having and how they get resolved. What really grinds my gears is when someone will ask me to do something specific for them that takes a lot of work -- which I do and then they ghost the whole thread, and we never find out anything about the problem nor solution - grrrrrr! ;)

@RedNeck for providing emotional support when my car starts being dumb, helping me with it however he can, making sure I have a safe place to sleep when I drink way too much down south and the locals want to have their way with me, and being an awesome dude that i'm glad to call my friend.

Loved building models as a child, especially when times were tough.

The 3x8 series has endured more rewardingly than any other vehicle or even possession for that matter in my life so far.

I rely greatly on my hobby of driving/tinkering and restoring things for a therapeutic sense of accomplishment. The artist, engineer, control freak, enthusiast, romantic etc in me all come together in harmony even when simply waxing the finish.

Thanks Enzo, Thanks Pininfarina! Thanks all of you here on chat!

@Steve Magnusson helped me several times with my 328 GTB back in the day.

And I know @Rifledriver gets a lot of beef but he has helped me too with some technical details with the 328.

I want to thank @Eric C 's general contractors for providing endless content for all of us.
@todd cloud for making sure those exhaust mod SICKOS can't hurt my other friend Todd's car @05F430F1 with their black market shenanigans.
Arigatou, @mkraft3003 and @mdrums for making sure Todd stays in line with his posts by reporting him.

Lastly, @Ivan Drago for giving Apollo Creed what he deserved.

    God Bless

It's a sound minded, secure human thing... geographic is irrelevant .... you could talk bad about my Mother, my baby or myself and I would never report someone to someone else .... weirdest thing ever.

I ran across this thread just now while googling to see if Ferrarichat had any sort of page showing "Top posters" or a page showing rankings of most active users / highest post count. Anyone know if such a ranking exists on here? @Robb ?

As far as saluting standouts on the forum, there are many who pop to mind.

I'll mention @Rifledriver as a standout, simply because I appreciate his no nonsense / cut through the BS approach to slicing and dicing posts on here and getting down to the real meat of the situation.

Also @mdrums & @Ferrari Tech are always there when you need them.

    Ray
