Day Thanks for your contribution. Will we see again a rear mid engined NA V12 car in the coming years ( Icona) ?
Exactly, the goal is not to describe it, a teaser is enough Modern design implies ruptures. For example, you should not expect a front vent like on the 812, it is treated differently. As much as the 812 has been controversial internally, the 167 is unanimous !
interesting, at some point, I have to think we are getting to market saturation between all the makes and their new models.
I don’t consider this being named splitting hair when I say that the operation and infotainment system of an SF90Spider, which I own, is the least desirable feature in that car. Which after all is nothing else but a breathtaking sculpture like monument in the automotive history. The 167 will certainly contain a comparable system. Too much of digitalization Ferrari is heading to. Unfortunately.
I also hope they stay away from the haptic, touch pads and stick with regular buttons. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Totally agree. It’s devastating to drive. Loved it. The hybrid with a V-12 is going to be awesome. And to be honest here in LA, it’s in a long line now that is just absurd for the street. I thought the F-12 was insanity when I first drove it here. This thing makes speed so fast it’s nuts.
Good reading ! and before the meal for those who are on a diet, it has the merit of cutting the appetite... https://www.timeslive.co.za/motoring/news/2023-02-14-interview-ferraris-benedetto-vigna-on-the-future-of-luxury-and-the-shift-from-combustion-to-electric/
A full EV is going to require a full battery pack, 100kWh++ (Evija:70, Taycan:93,Rimac:120), if Ferrari goes light, large effect on range, and that is all new for Ferrari, Stellantis is playing around with EV so I would not count on their assistance. This "talk" referencing Tesla, does that mean Ferrari will rely on Tesla to make their battery tech, rather than Ferrari making their own full sized battery packs? That would certainly help them get this all EV car ready for 2025 reveal and 2026 deliveries, especially when you realize there is not even a test mule yet...the hybrids (SF90/296) had mules for a long time before reveal...
This Vigna as CEO of Ferrari is the same thing as a vegan as CEO of a butcher's shop. It's a tragedy. The guy has absolutely no identification with what Ferrari is.
Don't blame the man. It's the new legislation that forces everybody to go all-electric by the 2030s. Ferrari has 2 options. Either go extinct or survive by going electric. They don't do this by their own will. They have no other choice. Soon every car manufacturer will have to go all electric.
Interesting that Vigna talking about gearboxes ....could they do the unthinkable and launch the EV with a manual box? Chris Harris also referenced that ..not particularly about Ferrari.
