Was due to spec it next week, but my heart wasn’t in it, and didn't want to waste dealer’s time.

Those of us who were asked if we wanted the car and deposited the money before the preview signed contracts with a no refundable deposit with Ferrari not the dealer. That said if you haven’t seen it in person wait. It’s so much more in person. Truly a magnificent vehicle. The lusso was and is an acquired taste as well.

Mine is refundable as well. Or movable to 167 if that’s what we decide.

Where are you all ? Contract with FNA states non refundable

The additional 20k is not specific. The 18 month right of first refusal pretty clear.

I’m in so it doesn’t matter to me.

What if a Ferrari Purosangue had been made in the 80’s ?

In response to this question Carscoops' presented its vision of an 80's “Purosangue” that the renders below show and which they baptized with the name Testagrosser which honestly reminds of a vintage hardcore sex movie title lol. Carcoops didn't specify the imaginary performance of this Testagrosser but, as it happens now, it would have to surpass the Urus' grandfather, the Lamborghini LM002, which was the fastest SUV of the 80's and was equipped with the Countach's V12 engine Quattrovalvole with 450 hp and had an acceleration from 0-100 Km/h of less than 8 seconds. After this Lamborghini it took almost two more decades for another super SUV to appear on the market, the Cayenne S, equipped with a 340 hp V8 and an acceleration from 0-100 km/h of around 7 seconds.
History can't be rewritten and IMO Ferrari chosed the right timing for the launching of the Purosangue and once again surprised everyone. The car it is not an SUV as some forecasted, but a road vehicle with very specific characteristics such as the FF and the Lusso. It is also the most powerful and performing in its segment and, if that was not enough, in aesthetic terms it is by far the best design and the prettiest.

The initial people on the list that got invited were supposed to be a 2 year run for the v12s but now Ferrari opened it up for others!

Was told dealers were allowed recently to double the orders. Demand has been so strong Ferrari couldn’t disappoint its shareholders.

So it means this car will no longer be special - I just hope everyone coming on board will be signing the 18 month lock up period!

It’s a different story from our dealer. We were discussing how it can’t make sense for them to produce a short run. He agreed but said that Ferrari are still adamant that won’t be the case. “Whether they change that in the future who knows, but for now no sign”.

The logic is to use the platform for Hybrid and EV versions but no sign of that either. May be likely that they do that in a couple of years with a facelift and new name (doesn’t seem right to call a hybrid four door Ferrari a Purosangue.) - my thought not his.

Seems crazy to pay $500K after options for a car that anyone could gain access to. If the V-12 option is not kept to a relatively small amount of production then why drop that kind of cash? The car will not be significant faster than a Lambo Urus Performante or DBX 707. At the targeted price point, the car must be more exclusive or people will simply elect to purchase other options. Exclusivity is part of the cache. The later hybrid options can afford to be more accessable.

    I signed the lockup.

As far as anyone being able to get one…. I don’t know how much that plays, since not everyone can or will pay for it. If “anyone” can get one and that deters people who buy just for exclusivity from buying a car they don’t like just because nobody else has one, I don’t think that is necessarily a bad thing. :)

I do not buy cars as investments. However, I do think about depreciation (and exclusivity influences its rate at which a car’s value declines). For me, the quality of the machine comes first and how much the experience will cost me comes second.

I lied, I went back and looked at my agreement and it is 18 months. I got confused between the different orders I have. Too many cars coming in.

it doesn't have to be faster though, people will buy it even though it's super expensive compared to the rivals on the basis that it's ferraris first suv and want to be seen with it

if they will produce much more, this car will depreciate fast, because the price tag is way too high from the beginning.
A (too) big part of the price tag of the Puro is exclusivity, so if this isn't there anymore .....

Top one looks surprinsingly realistic. Like you would totally believe it if you had been in a comma during the 80's.

The question is not "if" they will produce more, but which powertrain iteration will the "production" PS use? The V12 will be limited, the production model will most likely not be a V12, nor was it the intent to make it strictly a V12.

A couple of months ago the factory asked dealers to make up a "list" for the commoners.

.......which will be interesting to see how that plays out.......

I don't know if this has already been posted here but I just heard that the embargo for Purosangue reviews ends on March 8th 2023.
