Two Questions: Stolen Generation. 1. If the 1969 Federal act stopping the removal of Aboriginal children from their parent (s) had not come into place, how would these children in general have turned out? 2. If the act had never become an act of Parliament, would we now see criticism of that Government and Governments that followed since?
With regard to 1: there is a marked divide in the NT between those who grew up under that legislation and those who didn't. Most of those who did can read and write. A great majority of those who didn't make a 'mark' when they sign things. Tell me who's life turned out better?
That’s all very well and good but which one is a builder whom sits under the shade of a tree to cool down?
Yes, it has been dressed up to look like they were great conservationists but all they did was rape the land till there was nothing left then move on.
I can clearly remember being at school in the early '70s. With a history teacher telling us students about how even then, milk trucks full of cheap sherry were driven into the NT and FNQ and Aboriginals would line up with their Government pension and a flagon for their supply of cheap sherry! Here we are 50 years later with the same issues, and the inner city ones talk about a BS treaty.
So all the complaining about Sovereign land and our land always will be . This needs further discussion. Now they claim 700,000 Aboriginals lived here in 1788, how was this discovered?
Disturbing stuff. I’m glad I don’t have kids (which is probably a sad thing to say). I would go absolutely off the deep end at the standard of education and blatant indoctrination that goes on these days. Image Unavailable, Please Login
