Hey Max! Why chains? Get Yelp and take a chance on some mom and pop operations.

Costco had double cut lamb chops from Australia! Never seen those there before, so I grabbed some.

Being about 2" thick, I decided to go with a reverse sear type strategy.

Took a drive in country in the F450 while those chill in the fridge. There's a joke here, but it's not coming to me! [emoji6]

Finish off in 300 F oven until about 140 F internal. Yummy. Thank you Oz!

Small town and independent restaurants are not very good.

Lol. I'll take that as a compliment! The original plan was to have leftovers, but they were so tasty, we just skipped dessert.

I know you're far from Costco, but if you do, check to see if they have double cut Australian lamb chops. Worth it!

Tonight was F-chat chuck roast chili. Roughly 10 hours of simmering.

Used the induction cook top. Made keeping it at the right temp to slow simmer much less effort than futzing around with a burner.

We decided to get sushi last night. On Google, the restaurant was rated five and a half stars out of five. It was a big mistake trusting Google. The food was terrible. Whole Foods Market makes better sushi and rolls.

Me ? We have a major Costco about 2 miles from us :) When at Costa we look for the American stuff as Aussie produce is everywhere.

What I do like is that we also have a USA shop close by :)

Bummer. Never trust Google. I will trust Yelp if there are enough reviews to be statistically significant.

Apologies, that was directed at AzIt.

I didn't know there was Costco in Australia. I'll let my wife know, it's her favorite place to shop! Do you have big American dually pickup trucks in Oz? That's my preferred ride to Costco. We load it up and only have to go once per month. [emoji2]

as a small business owner, I hate Yelp and all they represent. I have over 40 5 star reviews and 4 1 star. The 1 star are the same people twice. so actually only 2 1 star reviews. They are 7-9 years old. Where are they in the que? At the top for all to see while my 5 star ones are deemed, I forget the word, "irrelevant or something" and not visible unless one chooses to hit the link to them. Otherwise they choose to leave the bad reviews, unfounded by the way, up at the top for everyone to see unless I choose to advertise with them. Unfortunetely, Yelp and other review sites attract the negative in people and rarely attract the positive comments.

Great points. Thanks. That's why I try to look @ all reviews with perhaps a slight emphasis on the most recent ones. Also, in a case like yours, 10:1 ratio of good to bad would not scare me off, but I know that might not apply to everyone...T

Terrible pic, decent dinner…had the foodie neighbors over to our house.
