Yep, Katie Gallagher was the Labor attack dog, helped by the corrupt media. Interestingly, Janet Albrechtsen's excellent article, published in the Australian on Saturday, which damns both Higgins' claims and the $3m payout (there is an email from the appropriate department that said that Reynold's office had followed the correct process) has been severely edited over the course of the weekend, 60% of the content is gone. No doubt Higgins' lawyers threatened to sue and/or pressure has been applied from Labor. Shocking abuse of power by Labor and a shocking misuse of public funds. This is 3rd world corruption in plain sight.
What always amuses me is the leftwing flogs who carry on about corruption within a coalition Govt and see themselves as on the Right of all that is good,remain silent. Gallagher's classic high-powered Communist enjoys the benefits of the wealthy and the privileged.
I doubt we will ever be told what happened or the details re Gallagher's role in the issue and the payment value.
The corruption stems from the fact that Gallagher benefited from the political damage done to the Liberal party (she would not be Finance Minister otherwise) and then approved the $3m payment. Where is the independent review? Where is the accountability when spending large amounts of taxpayer's money? We now know that Higgins' claim wouldn't have stood up in court, because of the email from HR that confirmed that Reynolds' office had followed the correct procedures. She didn't deserve to be paid. All the damage to her reputation was self inflicted. She got drunk and entered the Defence Minister's office without permission. She deserved to be fired for it but only the male staffer was. The rape story was her attempt after the event to deflect from her actual crime. Every Australian should be angry at how we've been played for fools.

Makes perfect sense to me. I've worked my ass off for 30 years to get about 1/3rd of that amount saved up for retirement... When I think about all the anarchy in today's world, esp the 'culture wars', I often think about Billy Joel's song "we didn't start the fire" and try to dismiss what is happening now always has been a part of human history. But somehow, something about what is happening now is so fundamental that I truly feel genuinely worried about the future. P.S Although I accept some people want to be transgender, what I find hypocritical is that if one wanted to go on an extreme hormone therapy to become a woman (or man for that matter), this is medically and socially acceptable despite the clear long term risks however one couldn't go on a course of steroids to become a body builder without going to some dodgy drug dealer.
Last year, a mate told me his wife’s workplace (fairly large organization) was having a ‘women’s only’ get together. It was a Friday for lunch in order to raise a little money and awareness for breast cancer. One employee who was genetically a female but didn’t identify as one, made a formal complaint close to the day and the whole thing was cancelled at short notice. They’re now turning on their own
