When you say marketing, is this about a Nurburgring time or the naming of the car?

The usual marketing is probably to be expected...the most powerful Ferrari ever, technology derived from racing, a dry weight of...:D
As very well said, it is a road car that will allow you to do 3 trackday laps before changing the tires:D !

Sf90 GTO will be a good marketing.
    I hate front motor 4wd.

As the SF90 VA was first designed to be an XX car but finally turned out to be a road legal car, then well yes the GTO moniker can match.

I’m not a fan at all though to link SF90 (masterpiece but hybrid) and GTO.

  8. Not road legal.

A theoretical Senna LT would be road legal, but just dialed up in the way a 765LT is to the 750

Years ago - I would 100% agree but not after owning a Senna with standard equipment race harness.

Anyway - Ferrari would never make a turbo / SUV / V6 / AWD but times have changed and now they are playing catch up.
Porsche is not the target here - they have been making a squashed neighborhood bicycle for decades - it's old news in any form.

Lamborghini Porsche Bugatti Mclaren Viper others & now Ferrari - wings break track records and if you don't think so - take a look at the Viper breaking 13 records where prior the car was a mess.

If you don't like a Ferrari wing - don't buy one. Ferrari is producing the slowest heaviest car right now and it's time they reflect F1 vs porky the pig with 1000 hp regardless how fast those tires won't last more than a few laps.

Look at the weight of a P1 vs LaFerrari and plenty of guys track their P1 & Senna at 9/10th's
Ferrari guys like me - want speed and performance first.

Well, putting a wing won´t make it lighter, so it will be a porky pig with a wing,. Maybe that´s worse than just porky pig.

I don´t see much the point, and -flame suit on- the same goes for the GTO/TdF/Competizione: jeez, those were born as front engine, old man´s GTs. There is nothing wrong with that, so don´t force the poor car to make something it was not designed for.

    That's my entire premise.
Believe it or not - the avg Rolls Royce buyer is 43
Old man Ferrari's are not their future - they have to appeal to 30 / 40 year olds.
Im 61 - owned Bentleys Cullinan etc and felt 81 - prefer youthful spirited in a new exotic.
Have plenty of old metal to be a gentlemen in and there is plenty to buy - new exotics should be like a new model from Vic Sec or Sports Ill not the Wall Street Journal version. We buy exotics as Trophies and rewards - who wants a porky trophy gf :) that's athletic vs Exotic Athletic when spending 500k to 2M. I want Ferrari's best not what was their best decades ago,

Name a street Ferrari that's breaking track records ... outside the SF90 since 2000.
Viper broke 13 records Senna even more Lamborghini Porsche goes to the Ring and sets records.
Feel free to prove me wrong -
My hope is the Purosangue is the fastest SUV as I ordered one ... it's entirely new - it should be!

Selfishly, because I don't track cars (that's what my sim rig is for), I prefer the cleaner lines without a wing. Having said that, I've owned many cars with large wings and understand their purpose. I'm keen to understand why Ferrari elected to go this route, as it seems like a bit of a departure from recent VS'. Regardless, I've been looking forward to this car, and expect to replace my AF spider with it (if offered the opportunity).

Wing or no Wing, with the LaFerrari replacement all but confirmed with V6TT Hybrid, it will probably be the last V8 Hurrah and the one to have..

Ferrari started to break track records when fitted soft compounds tyres to their cars. And still with a road oriented suspension set-up for wheel angles and ride height. Cars like ACR or Porsche GT2/GT3 have factory full adjustable suspension set-up in addition with adjustable wings.

  17. That's because Ferrari won't let journos run their cars unless there's a full F1 race team there for support and they provide a ringer of a car.

And most owners are not tracking their 500K+ cars unless at a sanctioned Ferrari track event, where track records are about as meaningful as looking for hen's teeth.

Ferrari don't attempt factory timed runs, so this is an invalid argument. Their only official metric is Fiorano.
In independent tests though, Ferraris are frequently the quickest cars.

All supercar manufacturers send support teams to group tests. The "ringer" malarkey was put to bed years go.
