I just did my list on the fly, much like Carl. The top 5ish was very easy.

I also reflect on what cars my father and step-father would have into's world if in their prime. As daily drivers .NOT fun cars.

My father Current 911 with mum in a Rangie

Stepfather Macan GTS:rolleyes: with mum in a current Jaguar 4 door.

Not sure what their fun cars would be on the weekend, neither were Ferrari guys .

On reflection, 1966 was very much a high water period for automotive design

Lamborghini Miura, Maserati Ghibli, De Tomaso Mangusta, Olds Toronado, (the original the Batmobile :p).......any others?

.......and that's why it and the Caddy Eldorado won't be on any list of mine.
I would be putting down cars that don't actually go out of their way to kill me!

You know Klink, some cars weren't meant to be enjoyed driven at the limit.

Sometimes, its just good to cruise in a car, windows rolled down, listening to some tunes and wafting along the road on a gorgeous sunny day going nowhere in particular.

that's a brilliant list - I knew either your or Arvin would put in a Gordon Keeble - oh, you reminded me that the Corvette on my list was meant to be C2 -sorry typo - hence I used the date 1965/66 to denote big block.

I also like your inclusion for the Bolwell - its a car that I remember was being well loved at the time but has really faded from the collective memory.

Brilliant list Dan. I love the inclusion of the HK Monaro GTS - those rear tail lights and connecting fluted metal strip is gorgeous.

    Succinctly put and perfect answer.

You know Horse, when someone asks me what is the greatest Ferrari ever (and hence greatest car ever made;)), I say the 250 GTO or F40 - these two cars definitively and quintessentially sum up exactly what Ferrari is ALL about.

The fact that I covet neither says more about me than the cars themselves. Only a Macca F1 rivals them in my feeble mind.
