Yup...I do mean it like that, it would take certain events to happen for them to make a serious challenge for a race win. As it looks like, they'll be the first team to really take advantage.

Apparently Norris was seen punching a wall in frustration after the test today.

I think my day 1 comment of seeing a Mclaren not get out of Q1 may be a reality next week.

I've only seen a clip of Toto when he's fooling the FIA regarding porpoising and it reiterated my hatred for him.

Lots of people saying this season is actually pretty decent though

Just after the first episode about the Bahreïn GP last year, I was thinking :
My god this Red Bull team is very strong to recover from such start !

Also, difference between C4 and C5 (the tyre the Merc's used to set their fastest time) is half a second. So based on that, assuming (probably isn't) like for like between the RBR and Merc fast runs at the end, that's 8 tenths difference....

Aston Martin won't be anywhere close to Ferrari. If that happened the people in Maranello ought to just quit the sport completely.

And yea Ted...the guy seems as clueless as "crofty"

I have extreme doubts they'll be near Ferrari but I do think it's possible for them to upset Mercedes

With Ferrari having progressed the least out of the top 3, and Merc the most, If its possible to be near Merc, they will be near Ferrari.. Merc according to most have found 0.7 on Ferrari. given how Ferrari was 0.3 - 0.4 infront last season, If AM beat Merc, they will beat Ferrari too.

Nice chart but all it says is the Red Bull and Ferrari were fast already and they'll be fast again.

But good for Williams. I hope Logan Sargeant has a tremendous season.

Well testing is over - Quotes today - Ferrari
Ferrari: No cause for alarm over Red Bull’s impressive F1 test pace

Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur sees no reason for his squad to be downbeat about Formula 1 rival Red Bull’s impressive test form in Bahrain this week.

    Mercedes:
Mercedes "in a much better place" after final day of F1 testing

Mercedes' engineering chief Andrew Shovlin believes the team's W14 machine "was in a much better place" during Saturday's final day of Formula 1 pre-season testing in Bahrain.

1.Red Bull is comfortably the favourite
    2. Ferrari surely heads into the 2023 season as Red Bull’s biggest threat, largely because of how its new challenger was tracked performing compared to its predecessor and because Mercedes seemingly continues to play catch-up with its unique design approach.
    3. Mercedes - it’s in a much stronger position relative to its Class A rivals than this time a year ago.
    4. Aston for a variety of reasons they list in the article

The rest I dont care about. Not till we see what occurs in Race -1 LOL.

Take it for what it's worth.

Tire compounds are shaded......yellow or red.

Yuki Tsunoda is spelled that way in the Czech Republic....fyi.

Ferrari was faster down the streight, But not as fast as Merc in the corners, braking, or traction out the corners aparrently.

None are as fast as RedBull

    Nice post.

RedBull is appearing as more of a total package than any other team at this point prior to Race - 1.

Leclerc ***** slapped Russell something like 0.700 sec on C4 quali runs, but yea sure, Merc is on Ferrari's level

Atleast Merc fans, like the sky f1 team, still have their fantasy about some miracously bad Ferrari tyre deg that allows Mercs to surpass them. Let's just ignore how Ferrari stomped them in the last race in Abu Dhabi, heck, Leclerc even beat Perez' RB18 genuinly on race pace and deg.

What the hell has the AD race from last season got to do with testing of this season? and the vids dont even go into tyre deg, did you even watch them? obviously not, the vids are a representation of each drivers fastest time on the same tyre from the qualy runs they did on day 3, matched up so they are ghost racing.......... Specifically showing each cars / drivers fastest lap from day 3 of testing.

Worth noting, the times on day 3, are the fastest times done during all the 3 days of testing.

The deg was just my point of Merc fans hopium.
The vids are useless, how can you compare Ham with Lec? They didn't even do same sessions, Hamilton's track conditions were like 1 sec faster.

Ignoring track conditions, fuel, engine modes; why would Merc have had better cornering and traction? Because they were running a bigger rear wing than Ferrari!
Well u could say the opposite, that thats why Ferrari was faster in the straights.

But one thing is, Ferrari engine is better than the Mercedes engine, that is simply a fact. Ferrari were the kings of traction in the first half of last season, low chance they would be behind Merc in that category now.

two things. I hear Ferrari have NOT used their highest engine mode. Not sure regarding Mercedes’ engine mode but I believe the Mercedes will be the fastest car by mid season at the latest, their issue is front end grip which is a good issue to have and far easier to sort than rear grip. Merc’s massive upgrade coming in a few races will tell the tale.

Monaco will be Red Bull’s race to lose. Monza and Spa will be Ferrari’s to lose.
