I had also assumed that but I am now thinking it might be Roma spider,SF90 VS coupe and spider plus 296 challenge.

The earnings statement said that the strategic priority for 2023 was to enhance client experience on track and on road with 4 new model launches.
To me that suggests that the 296 Challenge could be one of the 4 new models for 2023.
Happy to be proven wrong (I normally am).

So much more in driving pleasure than a loud exhaust note... The sound of the actual engine remains the same btw.

Well, it's a matter of preference, but some prefer performance and driving fidelity over vroom-vroom. Not that sound is not important, but the sound is a byproduct of the driving process, not its essence.

    Perhaps.

I remember the first time I started a modern V12. It was an FF. I blushed like a schoolgirl. And that sound is what planted a V12 Ferrari in my mind. Absolutely love the F8 - it is a brilliant car IMO, but when I needed one more space, the 812 remained.

Yes, it is the total package. And yes, sound is not everything. And for me, I don’t believe the last good sounding V12 was the GTO. But for many of us, it is still an important piece of the total package.

    :)

    Nicely balanced opinion. I agree.
To be honest though, having a really shouty car is becoming embarrassing in Europe. People look at you and not in a very positive way... Perhaps in a race track or a mountain pass, but not inside a town.

I agree - a loud car just gets on my nerves anymore. It is the quality that matters to me in the V12. Hard to explain it. But i do love it. I can drive the 812 all day and never gets overbearing. Just sonorous.

I hope to take delivery of a 911 turbo S soon. I have heard people bemoan how it sounds like a vacuum cleaner. I don’t care - while I like the 911 NA engines if the past, the sound was never part of what I loved about 911s.

Not sure if that makes sense! :)

The decatted, TikTok/YouTube exhausts are gross. I do want to hear it though, and hear it prominently when I’m on the throttle.

There are rumors of the 812 replacement having been pushed to early 2024 going on over at Autopareri. Anyone with similiar information on the matter here?

I hope you understand that this kind of mentality brings upon us all these noise regulations. If only people were more respectful to each other...

Yeah, you must be right. It must be british vs american humour. Still a bit of a language barrier, even though we speak the same language*.

*I say this because I was startled by my new g/f. She is from New York City and told me that she was "down in the dumbs", the other day. Apparently that means that she was feeling rather unhappy. I thought it had something to do with the sanitary services.

The more cars I drive and own, the more I realize how important sound and engagement is to the ownership experience (vs outright speed). I feel for the engineers at Ferrari and other sports car makers who are increasingly constrained by regulations that are in contradiction to the ethos of what a sports car has traditionally been.

Those companies are forced to now prioritize branding, ‘lifestyle’ and straight line speed to try and compensate for what is being lost.

The good news is that there are decades worth of incredible cars to choose from and some may even find it liberating to jump off the new car train. I for one am not sad that I’ll never qualify for a 296 VS or SF90 VS since I expect there are many other modern classics I’d rather have for the same money (or much less).

Perhaps you US guys haven't problems with noise regulations, loudness of cars, tolerance for loud vehicles, .....
    You should be happy.

Here in europe it's another world.
And this is only the beginning now.

Zero tolerance for loud cars and motorcycles, ZERO !
In the larger cities here Germany we have special trained police squads for posers and modified cars.
They are official called SOKO Poser = Sonderkommando Poser which means special command Poser.
If you get into one of these controls, and they only think the car is too loud, they take the car onto a truck and take it away for inspection.
They have tools like underground camera systems, tools for checking if you have installed a valve remote control (forbidden), .....
Not funny, not cheap, you pay, you have the trouble, no rights for you.
Car is gone for days or weeks, basta !

Loudness ist like "the devil himself" here in Europe, especially in Germany.
We have got a lot of 30 Km/h (19 mph) zones on the main streets in cities, also in small towns, between 9 p.m. an 6 a.m. because of noise reduction.
Cars and motorcycles has got restrictions more and more.
In Austria there are passes in the alps !!!! which are closed for cars and motorcycles over xx db (in the documents), so with an 812 SF with it's 111db standing noise or an 599 GTB with it's 106db standing noise (in the documents) you are not allowed to drive this passes.

So REALZEUS wasn't false or "down in the dumps", a little bit less in the past could have been a little bit more now.

I'm happy to live very countryside, so i haven't these problems like in the large cities, but having Fabio's 6-1 header system in my 550 (it's V12 symphony and louder than stock, not crazy loud but loud), i have to drive with "eyes open" for controls everytime i come near cities.

Very sceptical what the future brings, i fear no good things for car guys like us.

    Daniel
