Perhaps they should contract Marcel Massini and other notable experts to provide content!

Filling >250 issues of interesting content that hasn’t been previously well documented would be quite the daunting task to me!

My subscription expired in the 90s when they refused to provide expanded new model and formula 1 coverage not available elsewhere. I thought it would be a good niche for them and they disagreed.

As luck would have it, I got the old $80 for two years renewal notice right around the same time they announced the price increase. I resubscribed at the old price figuring it would, if nothing else, buy a couple of years to see how the new ownership works out. As it stands, I doubt I will be resubscribing again...

I liked 0312MM better in Cavallino when it was pictured with Ornella Muti.

Another horribly framed cover. RIP Cavallino.

Soon, an undamaged copy of Cavallino issue 250 onwards will be worth more than a pristine number one or two…they are equally as rare.
My 254 arrived today bumped and battered…I could blame the post but that would be unfair on the postal service; the latest cardboard packaging didn’t have a hint of damage.

Is it another folding cover? That might explain the awkward composition.

I have subscribed to Cavallino since 1989 and bought newsstand copies before that, when I could find them. I didn’t renew the magazine after I had received the last three copies of the old subscription. Don’t think I have had any sub. that long, oh well things change I guess; too bad, maybe I’m getting to old for change hahaha.

    Yes.
That provides more space for advertising, in this case is inside the cover a 3-page ad for Canossa.

In the past...the 80s and 90s... a complete original collection retailed for up to $5,000.

This is just a compilation of the magazine's covers though, not even entire issues. Not much comparison, other than today a complete collection to date of the magazine could be had for considerably less than $5K.

Not that they haven't had some nice cover photos over the years, but is there really a huge demand for a project like this? Maybe there is, I dunno, but it wouldn't cross my mind to shell out $1250 for 5 volumes of magazine covers, however nice they may be.

Especially when finding a complete set of the actual magazines for not much more than that is a real possibility...

I just sent in my renewal. I’ll give it another year as I noted at least one improvement in the new issue: Some of the pictures now have discreet captions, which is helpful and informative. You have to look for the captions as they’re placed where you’d normally expect to see a photo credit. Not every picture has a caption, but some do.

I should mention that #254 has a proper tribute to Fred Simeone. I had been critical of the brief mention of his passing in an earlier issue.

one of my favourite magazines went, and so did I. Bye!!!

PS Still receive solicitations to renew, a tad impolite, almost spam.

    Amateurish.

Maybe that’s the effect they were going for…..like a video game or something.

    Hopelessly.
Ironic as I am dining in Arnage ahead of Le Mans practice tomorrow and this just parked as I saw that silly cover.

It looks like the whole track/tribune/grandstand scene is created, with the cars awkwardly superimposed. Presumably it’s a folding cover so there’s probably more to the image.

Here's the cover of "CAVALLIN....." again.
I do not remember this bend in Le Mans.
    Supposedly artistic freedom.

They should have turned the cars to the right, not the left!
