Are there any airlines that fly between Sydney and Newcastle direct? Looking at late June of this year. Thanks, Jon
Or anywhere IN Australia... You might also consider the train: https://transportnsw.info/documents/timetables/93-CCN-Central-Coast-Newcastle-Line-20220219.pdf It is actually a VERY pretty trip through the sandstone country around the Hawksbury region. Express trains are a bit under 3 hours from Central and there is a rail link from Airport direct to central. Make sure you’re outside peak hours though because they get packed by commuters at those times.
This is of course if the 365 is ready, otherwise I'll sell the ticket to someone here for an inflated price.
I've flown Jetstar a lot, only issue ever was a canceled flight from the SC when I would go up 5 or 6 times a year for racing over a 5 year period.
Obviously you’re a realist. Absolutely nothing wrong with Jetstar that isn’t wrong with every other Australian airline. They have a younger fleet, wider seats (A320 much wider than B737), and the same pilot standards as every other Oz airline. The idea that Qantas is a better airline than any of the others is hilarious to all of us in the industry except the “Sky Gods” whom fly for Qantas, but they would say that wouldn’t they? Or the wankers whom imagine there’s some kind of cache to flying Qantas (Again. Hilarious to people whom know). The ONLY thing that Qantas has in their favour is frequency. Nothing else. BTW. I say this as a Qantas lounge member, share holder, nearly million Point QFF member and someone whom always selects Qantas if I can. But that’s got nothing to do with my thoughts on the individual airlines, their standards or their customers. In reality they’re all basically the same.
Sure the planes and pilot standards are not an issue The ease of check in however is. Try that on a Friday night at Sydney Airport and compare that to the Qantas process. Then once through you have to deal with the door b!tch that makes every passenger weigh their carry on, arguments ensue and take off delayed. Then there is the cancellation rate. I gave up flying Jetstar after many annoying cancellations, often receiving an sms on the way to the airport, the last one telling us we were put on an EARLIER flight we had no chance of making. Their cancellation rate is more than twice that of QANTAS https://www.bitre.gov.au/statistics/aviation/otp_month It’s not a cache thing for me flying with QANTAS, I just want to get to my destination without the head ****. I fly Virgin too and have used Rex, Jetstar is in a league of their own Never forgive, never forget
I've flown Jetstar (Bogan bus) to Bali about 6 times business class and to Singa a few times business class, great value and the flight has been on time, and the service and Dreamliner aircraft fine .. To NZ the other month economy class was fine and on the way back flew ANZ, which was better again . I don't fly QANTAS , no value for money and I dislike their CEO having met him at a social event at Ayana in Bali years ago .
Steve or Dan would be able to explain far better than me "A BOAC Junior member" is JetStars issues re cancellation often due to staff hours thus shortages of staff to attend to flights?
Qantas treat their cabin crew very poorly in terms of salary and conditions. I am surprised they have anybody. My daughter, when she left them, said the only people who could afford to be crew were 18yo girls who lived at home next to the jet base - if you had to pay to commute you were upside down.
