Meaning that from 2010 on, this very politically correct behavior had a label. But the behavior itself existed long before 2010.
Max Verstappen has been almost unstoppable since winning the 2020 Abu Dhabi GP. He's also scored podiums in 80% of the past 45 races and scored points in 93.33% of the same number of race weekend. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Impressive to say the least. Both on Max and Red Bull sides. I’m amazed how Max improved since the Monaco GP 2018..
Ooooh ok in this case . This particular case, magically its also the driver . Previouse cases the driver wasn't onboard the car. Got it. You guys are geniuses.
Most drivers (including Hamilton) are slow in a slow car and fast in a fast car. Remember 2022 and how many races Hamilton won in a slow car? A very few drivers (e.g. Senna, but I think Verstappen as well) are fast in a slow car and extremely fast in a fast car.
Man I hope you joking because you sound like you started watching racing 2 weeks ago. A fast driver is fast in any car. Hamilton outqualified Russell last year(qualifying is a showcase of speed). And won in slow cars in the past. Alonso hadn't won a race in 10 years. I guess he is slow in a slow car too. Lol. Basically you are saying any driver who doesn't win a race is slow in a slow car. Lol. Man delete that post, or no one can take you serious on auto racing. Instead of writing unintelligent post, just admit that you are now changing your tune that its driver. Admit you change you mind now that Max is winning with the best car. Its easy, I'll help you say it, come on..... "Now that Max is winning, I'll change and say its driver instead of the car" A very few drivers (e.g. Senna, but I think Verstappen as well) are fast in a slow car and extremely fast in a fast car.[/QUOTE] Man I hope you are joking because you sound uninformed about F1. A fast driver is fast in anything period. That's why Hamilton out qualified Russell 2022, and won races in bad cars guess in the past. Alonso hadnt won a race in 10 years,
Still having problems with fully comprehending my posts? BTW, in the quote I have the deleted most of the blanks in your original post. There were an awful lot of them.
If you had read carefully my previous posts it would have been obvious that I agree that Max is currently winning with the best car. But Max is not winning only because he is in the best car. Up to the 2021 season he wasn't, and even then he won races. Just to prevent you misunderstanding / misquoting me again, let me rephrase that on a level you will hopefully understand: Max is one of the drivers on a very short list (Ayrton Senna and Gilles Villeneuve come to mind) who regularly could outperform their car. Sorry to say that your beloved Lewis is not on that list. Not by a mile.....
Lol. You can't "outperform" a car. Man I swear you sound misinformed on racing. The RB will not run a 1.25 at Bahrain. The car is limited. It just won't do it. A driver can't jump in and "outperform" it and make it do 1.25 . Now a driver can get the most from a car. Big difference. Hamilton, Schumacher, Senna, Lauda, Mansell, Alonso, Max, Norris, and more, all can get the most from a car. Max can squeeze out performance from whatever he is driving. I've seen Schumacher do the same. And I agree with Button when he said Hamilton's strength was somehow getting the most speed from the slow Mclaren during those years. I joke about you not being savvy on racing, but I assume you know a lot. Don't know why you trying to say Max is doing something different from Hamilton when he is not.
Max has proven that he can make up for a deficit of about 0.2 - 0.3 s per lap when his car is slower than others (*). That is what I call "outperform his car". It is something not many drivers can do. Lewis showed last year without any doubt that he can't. (*) Please read carefully: 0.2 - 0.3 sec / lap. Not 5 sec.
This is nothing new to to F1 man, I mean seriously. I've seen Hamilton drive way above the norm in many occasions. He won races with damaged cars, won a championship with a car his team mate finished 7th. Won a championship in 2018 in a car his team mate finished 5th. Won a race on 3 tires. All the great drivers have highlights, I promise. Go back and look at some old F1 championship footage dude, Schumacher, Alonso etc. Max is not doing anything new bro.
There we go again....Who is claiming that Max is doing something new? Certainly not me. As I said quite clearly, a very selected short list of drivers have done the same in the past. Senna: yes. Gilles Villeneuve: yes. Hamilton: no (*) (*) What his team mates did in the same car is not relevant here. Your statistics only show that they certainly were not at the same level as Gilles / Ayrton / Max. it might even that they got less preferential treatment than Lewis from their team....
