They were around 48-55k for the longest time, then jumped overnight to 90k.
In the meantime, 360's are 'affordable' - meaning they have not gone up much.

this never happened to me, not at the 250 I had, not at the BB and not at my competition

Because the early TRs had a different wheel set up than the cars you mentioned. It's one big bolt that screws into the wheel. The gravitational force on the bolt at speed loosens the bolt and the wheel falls off. This is why Ferrari went to a standard 5 lug set up on later TRs.

There are many threads on here about wheels falling off early TRs.

 

Many? There are definitely instances of the bolt coming loose but I would guess it’s a direct result of the moron who put it on! Bad design that got upgraded but not a design feature that should worry someone considering an early car.

 

for the 250 and the BB you are right with the nuts
but my competition is a 87 testarossa ( so one of the early ones ) with exact those "screws", but not in the wheels, in the hub. on the wheels there is the cone. and until now never had any problem, not on my car and not on customers cars

Yes, that's it exactly. It's a totally different configuration than the BB series. Yes, many people have had the wheels fall off which is the entire reason Ferrari changed the design.

 

Only reason they're "desirable" is the look. As far as functionality it's an inconvenience all around.

 

Agreed, the look is far superior to the 5 lug nuts. If they had only just used what they did on the BBs and the F40.

 

More of a classic look. Kinda works on the TR, but something along the lines of the F50 would have been more suited to the 512TR / M
