Let me start off by saying how excited I am to be a part of this amazing community .... I have owned many incredible cars, and have been building custom cars as a hobby for 23 years now but nothing makes you feel as special as telling yourself "I now own a Ferrari"

So what do you get when you mix a guy that has an innate need to make cars better than factory, a new to me MINT manual 2002 360, and watching all the 360TREV video's ...

A car that looks a bit better
    Sounds incredible
    A little faster / a little lighter
And most of all ... simply drives better

I do not consider myself an expert in software or tuning engine management systems whatsoever, but it became very evident in researching TREV and actually speaking with him many times that he definitely is.

What became immediately evident was the fact that after 6 years of development his software was not about adding HP like all the others out there ... it's simply to improve drivability, change the entire torque profile, throttle response and make the car not necessarily faster BUT more fun to drive.

A little fun fact for those not in the know ... Ferrari intentionally underpowered the initial throttle response / torque of the 360 to ensure proper tire engagement off the line and thereby not put the car sideways with the crappy tires we had in the very early 2000's

With 360TREV's tune this all changes ... from TREV himself

"They combine to make the experience of driving your car absolutely transformed, completely re-imaged. The focus has therefore been very much on playful character and perfect balance, banishing all numbness and delay, optimizing feel and response, giving you absolute control. You’ll instantly notice within seconds of getting behind the wheel how much it has been transformed."

So I started searching where can I get this tune for my 360, and after finding out that it was even difficult to get the tune in the US the answer became simple.

Bring it to Canada as nobody had yet done this.

I am super excited to announce that I have championed a relationship between 360TREV and the awesome guys at PFAFF Tuning toronto. For the 1st time in Canada we will have the opportunity to get cars (360/430's) tuned with 360TREV's custom ECU tuning upgrades.

TREV has sent over all the necessary components/wires to complete the bench ECU upgrades
More details to come, but my car will be put to the test over the next couple of months prior to releasing the software to the public.

So, some details for the build, quite simply get the ECU upgrade and make the car lighter, sound better and look a little better

Car as she sits today with the new CS wheels and yellow painted calipers

Lighter - mission drop 175Lbs off the car ... How
    Complete new exhaust system
Remove seats and replace with custom one's
    Replace battery with the Antigravity
I believe this alone will get me the 175 I am after

Exhaust ... pics and details to follow. Fabspeed FINALLY landed and off for ceramic coating
Fabspeed headers, TUBI race cats, custom titanium exhaust with remote Forza valved system
    Gruppe M intake
    air injection removed

    Engine
    injectors pulled & fully serviced
    360Trev tune
    New O2 sensors
    New BOSCH ignition coils

    Seats ...
Grabbed a pair of Braum Falcon-S 23.7 Lbs each
    https://braumracing.com/products/falcon-s-reclinable-seats

Seats will be redone in black leather from Hydes, designed as a modern take on the Daytona seats, and will have the white stitching done to match the dash/steering wheel

Awesome! Can’t wait to see how the seats come out. I use to use Hydes all the time. They import Hans Reinke leather which is real nice.

Amazing stuff and congratulations on your gorgeous 360!

I'm curious about your seats, are they a mate to the Ferrari mount points? If not, what is your approach, I have Sparco's and had a custom mounting plate made up

    Thanks everyone !
Colorfull, ok so we are going to try and see how the height of the seats come out exactly using the Planted seat brackets

Image Unavailable, Please Login s-l1600 by Steve Heck, on Flickr

If the result is they raise the seat too much the intent is to modify the seat bracket ... all of this I am going to capture in complete detail for the group

    Cheers

Don't use those brackets. Make your own. Just some metal strips and some drilling and ending you can make any seat fit. Those brackets sit WAY too high and weight a grip load.

I have also purchased the Braum seats and had them recovered in Alcantera with yellow striping. I used the Planted brackets also. Love the shape of the seats and they are very comfortable Image Unavailable, Please Login

I had a Sparco bracket, same as the Planted and as @toussi1 said, I found the seats way too high. You can have my sparco brackets if you want them, they are a heavy, inelegant solution.

My eyeline was at the top of the windshield and I'm 5'9"

I made a template out of thin plywood, had a steel plate made up, this put the seats to near the floor and they're at a decent height, I'd prefer an inch lower but they are ok

I was actually just about to do a full write-up

Here are some pics, they are Spacro SPX that had the leather done

I have a detailed CAD drawing of the plate if you want it

Another note, does your car have a passenger seat sensor? If so, there is the AIRBAG sensor which need to be dealt with.

Aaaahhhh ... crap, ya it looks like the Planted brackets are a no-go then
I like this too, very clean and I was wondering about the seat belt bracket .. Colorfull how did you deal with that, and BIG thanks for the drawing !! I was admiring your setup during my inspirational research on seats ... love it

If you want, jump into the thread with more info on the seats, I know a lot of folks like myself are very interested in the best possible or alternative solutions. More the merrier LOL

Like these ... They welded the cross mounts and the seatbelt bracket directly to the sliders

Are your rails/seat the same width as the floor holes? Mine weren't which is why I had to make a plate, the Sparco mount ones were about an inch narrower than the floor holes.

Apparently these setups are all a bit different, fortunately I had threaded holes in the seat base for the seat belts on this particular Sparco model

Pics of an early test and my final bolt config

NOTE: DO NOT PUT YOUR PASSENGER SEAT IN AND START THE CAR if you haven't solved for the AIRBAG (if you have a CPOD) it will trip your dash sensor and need a reset from a high end computer like at the dealer

Wow, those look really nice Steve!

So a couple of things I've gleaned about the airbag, first off many thanks to Lorenzo, as I was going through this process, so was he, in fact I was trying to keep up (as usual), as we collectively worked through, I couldn't have done it without him. Also many thanks to others who helped with the problem solve and contributed including @mwstewart @Qavion @GCalo @Flea7 @clean512

    One of the main threads
    https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/148564856/

It was/is very hard to find info.

We have F430's, I ended up putting Europe airbag ECU in as it doesn't look for a CPOD. I had tripped the light, I'm hoping I bring it in and it gets reset and I'm all good.

I like Lorenzo's solution much better, he purchased a CPOD sensor and had it installed in the seat. I would have done this but didn't have someone to do the work and was iffy about taking my seat apart. In retrospect, I should have bit the bullet and done this.

Since your seats are in progress, I would recommend this as you retain full functionality

The issue is that there is a wire to the sensor that doesn't have anything to connect to once the CPOD is gone. Lorenzo tried putting resistance on the line to trick it, but that wasn't completely successful and we weren't sure what state the airbag would be, armed or not, when someone sat in the seat.

Good luck! Others may have other suggestions or approaches

One person with an F430 said he didn't have an issue at all, the light didn't go off, the 360 may be different and this MAY be a moot point for you, I'm just not sure, just didn't want you to inadvertently trip your light.

Can you feel a big difference with a Trev's tune? Does anyone know if the euro tune is different than the US tune?

Trev did my tune on the F430 I used to own. You will notice a difference, especially 0-60. It was fantastic. He said I got the "full beans" tune, but not sure what that means exactly.

Actually it's not "a static re-calibration" in the traditional sense. Imagine models like the 360 or F430 which between them have more than 150+ different software versions - use the wrong software on your car and it will never run right. Many people think a single "tune" exists - it does not, if your doing it properly (not just to make a quick $) each car is different and each owner has individual tailored demands and requirements. On the 360 alone the factory produced on average one different software revision every few weeks so the software is really quite different across even model years.

Some unfortunate cars that I've had to fix (to help out desperate owners whom have reached out in absolute despair) have become almost classed as lemon grade and subsequently passed around multiple owners. In these cases they have collectively threw tens of thousands trying to fix issues which are caused by using the wrong software. After going back to Engine number, assembly number and vin and looking up what their car came with from the factory it's often a bad tune crossed flashed onto their car causing problems. Like trying to run Window XP on a pc designed to run Windows 11. May be possible to install it and "appears to work" on the face of it but issues with support for various features like usb3.1 or full speed. Same on the cars many things get broken if you simply cross flash...

I've developed highly sophisticated software over multiple years which intelligently detects and automates everything required based on your exact firmware to be able to either upgrade you to later spec firmware (based on unique properties of your cars spec, sensors, wiring and configuration - not all cars are the same spec and different assembly numbers can differ substantially and are not compatible with each other).

And to get to your original question, yes EU cars run entirely different software to US cars. Not to mention no requirements (or even compiled in code) for the obd smog stuff which is USA specific. In fact there are tonnes of differences between USA and EU cars including different ignition timing , correction maps and so forth because EU cars are calibrated for 98 RON octane for starters...

Hope this helps and sorry if I went into too much detail. Its bespoke per car..

In terms of difference, you can really tell within a few feet/meters that the car drives quite radically differently setup, instant engine response, instant torque and driver engagement, highly detailed revisions to drivability, much faster, crisper throttle response for the keen driver, even at low speeds the car responds very differently and much faster to get into the sweet spot of torque (this isn't just your typical throttle maps but dedicated speed ups to remove all the factory delays).

For example if you drive a manual gated car the configuration can be adapted so the factory throttle lockout on the pedal is removed when brake pedal is pressed allowing keen drivers with the relevant experience to heel and toe. Which is very annoying on the stock car (blame one size fits all setup for this to protect people from pressing both unintentionally). Another is immobilizer rearm time, stock is 29.44 seconds after unlocking using fob, this can be extended so you actually have time to get in , put on harnesses or belts and start the vehicle. I found the stock time was always too short and ended up doing the annoying dance of lock unlock before trying to start. So stupid.

In summary so much is adjustable for you that helps you get exactly what you want out of your car.

    Trev
