I think he was referring to your remark to me. I’m not offended by your remarks to me. People do what they do. You seem as equally convicted that the 167 will be a hybrid as Day is that it is not. Only way to really know either way for sure is to have insider information from someone who violated NDA? So pot meet kettle? Of course, I am a not a VIP and passed on the 812 GTS because I just didn’t love it. I also don’t have a lot of skin in this thread (not sure what that means) because it is simply a thread of speculations, hopes and dreams in a public forum after all. From what I have observed, however, you have been careful to. It say too much. Sometimes perhaps walking a line. I’m in business a long time and have negotiated many NDA’s on both sides. I was referring to the "You do realized this is a bs public forum - correct?" While this is a public (Correct)it is not a BullSh@t public Group. It’s a place where Owners, tifosi, Car enthusiast etc all come together to be immersed in the world of Ferrari and cars and even a little world politics. We are made up of a beautiful blend of age, cultures, upbringing etc which has all come together. That is rare these days, it’s why I have been here since 2006. Some people like to eat up all the air others share when their ready. There are few places like this in our world. So when you referred to it as “BS” That to me was a slap in the face of this great community. As for day my 2 cents is pound for pound he is pretty spot on with what he shares here. Yes Ferrari watch over this group too which leads to what you asked. NDA’s what do I think. When I was a young 22 year old I landed an amazing role in IT/Telecommunications industry it was a role experienced professional at double my age would give their right arm for. So of course, I had an NDA. Funny thing was as part of my role (unofficial) they wanted me to gracefully share information at my discretion within limits that I had to figure out, this info when to partners, clients, even members of the public etc (BTW the role was internal it wasn’t to deal with media or the public etc) Here’s the kicker if they at any point deemed I had gone to far I would be let go under the terms of my NDA. So, While I respect NDAs I also know there is a thin line you can use in most cases that the Company/individual will not class it as a breach its sort of a grey area lets call it. And that’s what I see here 99% of the time. Having little bite sizes pieces of information is great for business it gets people talking and any press even bad is good for business they say. Days statement: So far Days Non Hybrid for the 167 aka 812 replacement looks to be correct this is currently backed up by the evidence in full public view that none of the 167 mutes have the electric warning labels on them which all other Ferrari Hybrids have had to date in their mute form. If you cross the line Ferrari are not afraid to let you know and as above they are full aware what goes on here. Sure, post 590 you say prior history, it’s current or existing. Then you spread your 812 replacement is a Hybrid nonsense. Post 613 you say the VS will have a 250 mph top speed a first for Ferrari. I would say this or any car running the downforce and wing of this car will not get anyway near 250 MPH. I liked the photo of your green 812 GTS over on the SF90 VS thread bizarrely post 592, and even asked you the colour green it was, not have liked one of your posts discussing SF90 VS.. The whole point of a turbocharger is to utilise the otherwise wasted exhaust gases. Otherwise it would just be an electric supercharger. It just uses an elextric motor to spin up the turbo, before the exhaust gases, so at to eliminate lag.
I must have misunderstood. I thought it utilized the exhaust gasses to spin a generator which in turn powered the turbine (or centrifugal pump) that compresses the air for a forced induction. And all this time I thought electric turbos eliminated the exhaust sound issue that turbos cause. Ha! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Anything which interrupts the exhaust gas pulses and flow will affect the sound. This is why turbos, manifold design, gpfs, cat sizing, resonators, X-pipes and back box baffles/mufflers all impact the sound. It’s also why superchargers don’t affect the exhaust note.
