Todays goal was to push the upper gabion cage back, so that this monster live edge timber could be worked into place to further reinforce the entire cage and stair support beams and structures below. I used a floor jack on its side, reinforced with a bunch of rusty scrap steel, and with a miter saw hand cut a notch in the vertical cedar siding plank that would house one end of the timber. The rusty metal scrap below is the same material I did the door jamb on my shed last summer. I plan to move giant rocks and boulders into place next to make a useable stairwell right up those gabion cages. There is not a single nail, screw, attachment, etc. everything is precise fit and all seems to me anyway to be extremely strong.

Just remembered this topic. Thought I'd check to see if you still own the house and if yes is all ok?
