True. I am having my dealer price the car with Azzuro Metallizato and with Grigio Alloy. I will keep analyzing the pictures of both colors….or should I say agonizing?

Ultimately I decided that since this will be the last Ferrari I order put aside the extra $$ and stick with my desired selection. I want to thank Iain, Ryan. soulsea. Caerulesus11 and Eric for the pictures, info and advice.

Sometimes I need a little "push" to overcome the logical numbers-guy in me......after all what is logical about ordering a half-million $$ Ferrari?

Not much......the rear diffuser and maybe front bumper insert....not the front spoiler.....too hard to fix when scraped.

I am a dinosaur and don't have much appreciation for carbon fiber. Especially the interior. Leather? Absolutely anywhere I can. I have spec'd a lot of subtle finishes inside the cockpit. Colored dash, upper doors, rear wall, steering wheel all in Blu Sterling.

    And shoot me but.........NO shields.......

The closest color is called Magma a striking 3-layer paint system. I prefer subtle shades that don’t attract a lot of attention. Just my style I guess.

    That's not cool at all!

I get the cost of a triple layer paint, however if they are going to sting yo like this, then get a triple layer paint.

Sadly I got confirmation via the factory today that the six colours in the PNTC group - Avio Met 591, Azzurro Met 592, Celeste Met 590, Grigio Medio 791, Verde Abetone 690 and Vinnacia 390 - have all been moved into the PNT1 group so the charge for them has more than doubled.

Yikes…I just submitted my order through Atelier for Verde Abetone at the $13,499 figure…. I guess we’ll see what happens. Maybe it too gets rejected.

Well I guess I am not the only one getting this bad news. The dealer sent me the paint sheet saying the same. After AM 592 was denied in the PNTC code they tried to select Avio Met. The system denied that too.

When is your car slated for production? If it’s already in the 10G stage then they may have accepted your order before they reclassified Verde Abetone. What happened with my order was it was kicked out because of Azzuro Metallizato being reclassified when the order came up for acceptance.

I think what is happening is that these paint colors are not often selected resulting in longer build times due to having to changing the paint colors more frequently.

Ferrari wants to finish building these 812 GTS models as soon as possible so they can retool the line for the replacement. These unique color schemes are adding time to the transition process. Guess we have to pay for this time.

I think I must be behind you. I just firmed my order on Tuesday via a Docusign with my dealer. Now, I originally completed the spec in Oct 2021 with Ferrari Atelier and so the spec was likely Ferrari approved around that time, but my actual slot did not come up until late last week.

That sounds plausible, but it certainly does not make the situation any less outrageous.

Yeah for the price of two houses you would think they would be a little more accommodating...

We struggled with paint selection when we finalized the spec for our GTS, but we ultimately decided on the historic color of Rosso Fiorange and we couldn’t be happier.

When the dealer contacted me last week with news about the paint they said if I finalize all selections by today my car would be on the "schedule" and might be built in July and possibly delivered in October. I am asking them to put me into the next allocation
You do know the "they" you are referring to is Ferrari. Heck Enzo wouldn't even accommodate Ferruccio Lamborghini.

I like to say if Enzo wasn't such an ******* neither the Lamborghini Muira nor the Ford GT40 would exist.

July build and October delivery seems like a super quick turnaround. I wonder if the other orders from this week (mine and @soulsea) will follow a similar build timeline.

I don’t believe they can deliver that quickly either.
