Cars and Bids sample no sale at $261k. Wonder if BAT would have been a better platform for this.

Only a 2 bidders were active after 231k and they were going back and forth at the end. No service history in the ad newer than July 2020 probably doesn't help. But still it's an 11k mile red with factory stripe car...

It looks like this auction got some good visibility though - 400k views on Doug's YouTube review of the car that had a link and shout out to the auction. The auction page says 33k views which seems in line with BAT. 4 Stradales went up last year on BAT with views of 24k, 23k, 17k, 36k. Maybe BAT could have brought more traffic or qualified buyers but who knows.

I haven't looked at this thread or Fchat in quite some time but now I'm regretting that I did. @collegeboy pictures are going to cause me to go spend a bunch of time and money on my car. I'm relatively new to the Ferrari world but not to centerlock conversions having been a long-time Porsche owner. I hadn't heard of / seen this before but now I'm about to go down a rabbit hole researching.

@collegeboy car looks phenomenal! Any write-ups or info you suggest I look into to get up to speed on the conversion? Thanks!

The interior was in rough shape and the few mods didn’t help either. IMO

Haha. Thanks man. If you want to do the conversion, definitely do it. It is all pluses and pretty easy if you have a Challenge Stradale. I can not take credit for finding out how to do it though. I merely followed the following thread. 360trev and a few others are the guys that figured out the "secret" of this basically full factory Ferrari parts conversion over 10 years ago. They deserve all the credit.

From a pure engineering perspective the central hubs made by SKF are designed to take a lot more abuse than the stock road going wheel bearings, especially when running wider rims like those fitted on the central nut as standard.

I seriously doubt bolting on extenders could ever be in the same class, not enough people have driven the cars lots of miles on tracks yet to know for sure. Put it this way, I know which ones I'd rather have charging over rumble strips at 130 mph.

Don't get me wrong, Extenders have their purpose, being much cheaper and easier to do but in my humble opinion they are not the same as a factory conversion. I acknowledge though for most people it's more than adequate.

Surely there is an unstrung weight benefit from the original rather than an adapter ?

Where did you come up with the price from? I checked back to the auction link. Didn’t see anything unless I missed it.

Just depends on what you can find parts for as the prices vary a lot. The center lock CS thread lists out all of the parts needed for it.

To The Top! Anyone have any updates on the market or been out driving their CS? I plan on taking ours out for a little ride in the next week or two as the weather finally starts to get nicer!

I just woke mine up from winter hibernation last week. Rocked it through the North Carolina mountain twisties. It sounded and felt epic, as always.
