Fair enough. But could you comment on the driving and ownership experiences of a carbed vs a fuel injected LM?

Not wishing to nitpick but this statement needs clarification. If the original manufacturer's price was $120,000 how can the lowest sale price be more than twice that?! A cursory Google search for selling prices came up with these links quoting prices under $100,00 until about 10 years ago :(

It appears that the FAQs quoted figures only refer to the last 5 years.

I bought my first LM002 for about $85,000 CAD if memory serves me correctly. In the early 2000’s most vintage Lambos were cheap!

Have driven a number of both and own a FI version. The carbed truck has a lot more HP. Have driven few with internal tanks that did not smell of fuel inside. Otherwise very little difference.

Brilliant, thank you. Did all the carbed ones have internal fuel tanks?

I have a friend who own both the Weber and FI model at the same time. He likes the Weber carb more because it's faster

Not sure. All the carb models I have driven had internal tanks and all the FI I have driven had external, tanks. The internal tanks are about 30 gallons bigger.
Carbed trucks continued to be built until September or October 89, long after the 1st FI truck in the beginning of 89. I am not sure if all fuel tanks went external then or not. But clearly they lost some range.

Had the 89 American, drove it daily for a summer in LA to see if it was possible. It is not. Spit gas all over me multiple times with both sides open. Blew out 3 tires at 120 on I-15 on the 2005 Bullrun. It’s one of those cars you just lust for then after getting and driving are ecstatic to get rid of. Loved my time with it, zero distress to ever go back.

I think I have only worked on 2 or 3 and it's been a number of years since I saw my last one. I do remember being somewhat disappointed in the thing..but is was and is still a really cool part of lambo history

They are totally uncomfortable to drive. Pedals are improperly placed. Really not a great vehicle to drive.

I know about a black one for sale privately in France. Not advertized. Recent restoration to perfection. Late model with what I heared is a Diablo engine. It even have a tow hitch! Do you know the tow capacity stated by the Lamborghini factory?
