Hi, I was wondering how much work can be done to a cars interior. For example, on the outside, I could have the brake calipers painted a different color. but how much work could be done (within a reasonable budget), to make changes on an interior, with the goal of changing the overall look in some manner. thank you in advance, brian
Carbon fiber interior panels, console and steering wheel. Nice floor mats. I changed my seats which made a big difference.
Hi Steve, this is an f8 tributo. Argento Nurburgring exterior. Interior is grey alcantara seats, interior door/door handles, glovebox, and a bit more. just too grey (for me). I don't love the alcantara that much either. but no matter what I would want to add some color in some way. this is what got me thinking about this. brian Image Unavailable, Please Login
The car I am interested in purchasing, yes. so the question is what could I turn that into that would give it some more color. If that's a 20k project, to make it exactly what I might want, perhaps it's worth it. I just have no idea what's possible.
LOL .. Brian for the right amount of $$$ ... anything is possible I just dropped $4k US to have these custom seats built for my 360 ... same position as you, needed some contrasting colour in my all-tan interior. I believe it can be done for $20k, ... if it was me I'd look at changing the grey alcantara ... reupholster seats, doors panels and dash Find a shop with a VERY good reputation My custom seats Image Unavailable, Please Login IMG_8517 by Steve Heck, on Flickr
I mean, at least it's not all black and you have deviated stitching and racing seats... If it were all black, I'd say change the carpet to red, but I don't think that will work with the grey. Maybe get a starlight headliner installed and call it a day There's a decent chance you learn to love it after you internalize what it costs to do it right and that the mods may not be well received when you decide to trade/sell
Yes, that is what I would ideally like to do. Anyone know of a shop with a very good reputation? I live in Westchester, NY. thanks!
Try Bradan. They're a sponsor here, and have done several F355 interiors beautifully. I wish they weren't so far away from TX.
Just keep in mind whatever you do will harm the residual value. So the true cost is the cost to do the work and then the lowered residual value. When the day comes to sell, you may find dealers won’t touch the car as modified, and a place like BAT there will be smart ass comments about how the car is changed. My advice is to leave it alone, the car is really nice as it is. At least for now. You might end up deciding you like the spec. BUT- if you really must do this- then make sure to do things that are reversible. Example: you want some color on the seats- buy new seats and get those changed. Then putting it back to stock would be a matter of swapping seats. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
That’s a gorgeous interior and different. I know it’s all personal preference but I wouldn’t touch that! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeah, boredom reigns supreme in this case. And I'm with you, give me a nice leather any day...which can be color changed in a number of ways.
I should also add, maybe the best move is get the car, wait at least a few months, knowing you could change it if it really does bother you, and go from there. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
Chang the seats...super easy. I did just that on my porsche, it was triple grey convertible, changed to red seats and made a huge difference. Or as others are saying, look for another car
This is the other interior I'm considering (Cuiou). F8 Tributo exterior Argento Nurburgring. Thoughts?? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Some of the interior trim panels can be ordered from Ferrari in a different color or material. If you're buying from a dealer you could work into the sale the purchase of a couple new panels, the labor to swap them out, and keep the original panels for a future buyer if concerned about resale.
