Wanted 355 center wheel cap

I'll post some general info that I learned when I restored my wheels recently.

There are a few different caps. The correct colour for the F355 is a true yellow colour as opposed to the slightly more orange yellow colour adopted for the 360 onwards. Getting correct coloured caps for the F355 is expensive these days because you need to find new old stock. But if you're not fussed about this then it's easy to find latter model caps that will fit without paying too much.

Also, there are two types of caps for the F355. One with a circlip holding it in place and another that just clips in. I'm assuming that the circlip ones pertain to early 2.7 models and the latter pertain to latter 2.7 models and exclusively to 5.2 models. But this isn't so important because they look the same from the front.

I make this assumption because the circlip ones don't show up on the 5.2 diagrams. See item 7 vs 11 on the 2.7 diagrams:

When looking to match existing caps (perhaps with non OEM items on ebay) make sure that the background yellow shade matches and look at the cavallino shape and silhouette (black or silver).

 

The old style cap should be 340066 which is cheaper than the replacement 108947/A which is a different shade etc.
