It’s still sitting in Shannons VIC, over to Carl’s soon (hopefully this year ) for a set of new tyres, brake lines, oil service etc then I’ll fly down and drive it back when I have a couple of weeks off in May

That is such a great photo. Few things are funnier than old pics like that.

You could spend years laughing at every aspect of it. It’s perfect.

And, believe me, there are plenty of equally hilarious pics of me.

 

Yep, I’m so glad that pic was taken. Unlike the kids of today that document every breathing moment on their phone camera, memories rather than pics is what I have of that period. The 80s were awesome. Where’s that pic of Chin?

Out of interest in todays high hourly rate world for mechanics and the shortage of QUALITY Ferrari mechanics,DO poorly maintained Ferrari cars sell?

I would have thought a poorly maintained Ferrari, would be unsellable?

I know in the Rolls-Royce and Bentley world and to a certain extent rough unloved cars are sellable and only at a fraction of well-maintained units.

With RR and B cars, so many people just drive them into the ground, and the cars will go for years with delayed maintenance.

Porsches are much the same driven hard, raced /rallied, and will last for years.

Ferrari cars would it be fair to say will not take a pounding and need care and correct maintenance?

With the emotion of owning a Ferrari, find it hard to fathom owners who neglect them?

I’ve always said - and I know it’s controversial - that I wouldn’t touch with a barge-pole any Ferrari that was “owner maintained”.

In terms of the quality of the maintenance, probably yes.

But unless it was owned and maintained by, for example, Carl or someone else whom spends their lives maintaining Ferraris I wouldn’t go near it.

Backyard maintenance is an instant No or at least 30% off the asking price.

 

What about a poorly maintained one ?
