Fish and chips last night. The prices have gone up. My platter was $22 last time and is now $26. For three people our bill was over $100 with tip. Too much for a standard fish & chips place!
I wonder if their beef is from Brandt Farms? (Local cattle finisher down that way with a national reputation)

Ours were from Costco too. They are pretty good and that is coming from one of the Walleye capitals of the world. I just simply cover them in a light breading I found at the store - great flavoring with a touch of heat. This stuff has become my go to. Pan fry medium heat until breading is crispy. Finish with a light squeeze of lemon. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Left over Chinese. The price also increased on our usual order. Was $89 something now $96 and change. Not a big increase, but its the norm here now with inflation.
Brother and his son visiting. Stopped by Ken’s Artisan Pizza for dinner last night. From their website: Wood-fired oven pizzas from Ken’s Artisan Pizza are Italian-inspired with an American accent. Long fermented dough, hand-stretched mozzarella, Italian tomatoes, and excellent toppings, baked with a blistered crust. Our pizzas are available in the classic 12-inch size. Since opening, Ken’s Artisan Pizza has received local and national acclaim from Food & Wine, Sunset Magazine, The Oregonian, The Daily Meal, Thrillist, and others. In 2022, Ken’s Artisan Pizza was named one of the best pizzerias in the country by the prestigious 50 Top Pizza, also being awarded with their Innovation and Sustainability Award 2022. Left to right: Margherita, house cured/smoked bacon, and fennel sausage and carmelized onion. Margherita the best. You can taste the different layers…sauce, cheese, dough, basil…every bite. Fried chicken from an indy grocery store just across the border. The chicken there is as good as Popeyes and a lot less money. 16 pieces there is $18.99 USD compared to $53 CAD for Popeyes. Tonight I'm thinking of lasagna from an ok Greek/Italian place locally.
