Yeah but they weren't a second a lap quicker than everybody else, and they did have 'strategy' as their secret weapon.

I predict 23 wins this season for RB. The US-sports duming down of F1 has just made it even more tedious.

Agree, as a life long band conductor, that was horrible.
As an F1 and Ferrari fan, that race was horrible.

With the possibility of LEC and VER coming up through the field and then running into drivers like HAM/RUS/ALO/PER I didn't think it would be a cakewalk, and it wasn't, even given the seemingly-easy-to-pass-double-DRS track in Jeddah.

Glad to see Haas squeak out a point, that's just going to be a year long battle back behind Ferrari this year, yes, 4th place Ferrari, boooo!

It seemed to me after the safety car and pitstops that almost nothing happened, nobody seemed to have much pace and move up, HAM and his MED tires didn't do anything, VER had an issue and settled for 2nd, PER ran a solid race and did what he gets paid to do (win if Max doesn't!).

Stroll safety car? Looked safe to me, although it's hard to argue safety.

    Agreed.
It seems that if you compete at the highest levels (F1 or where the new 499 will race) you are in the game per se and and offer the kind of lifestyle product Ferrari showrooms contain, that is more than enough.

I do not think RB will ever stop winning the titles until a real major change happens in the regulations or rules because they will build their next cars based on their already-flying monsters. The effort they need to make to create the fastest car is maybe three or four times smaller than what the Scuderia or the rest has to make. And we have the third or fourth fastest car now although we started developing the car earlier than others. I love SF and this will not change but I think relying on the legendary past does not make you the current best team because otherwise, Williams would be among the best of all, even better than the RB maybe. Scuderia should urgently win races, let alone the titles, to keep their mystical aura alive or Generation Z will continue mocking, which sincerely hurts me.

Last year's car was quick over one lap but harsh on it's tyres. This year's car is slow on any lap and still harsh on its tyres. Whoever is the hirer and firer at Maranello needs to start earning his money. Utterly unacceptable.

Sorry, Honda have a rabid performance/racing heritage and fandom. The NSX, S2000, various Type 'R's, Si's etc. etc. There are millions and millions of Honda performance fans who do watch F1, Sports car racing, touring car racing etc. There are also people who buy Ferrari's who know nothing, nor care about, racing. It's the 'correct' status symbol and nothing more. Discounting Honda as a performance brand because it's not as exclusive as Ferrari is a short sighted view for an auto enthusiast.

Honda entered F1 before they made road cars. Their very first road car was a sports car. They have been deeply involved in motorsport from before day 1. But they are a company that makes their money from every day cars for every day people. It doesn't lessen the passion or skill of the Engieers.

All I could think about was how nice it must feel for RB knowing they can take penalties and still get up front. Who cares if the gearbox needs replacing? 10 spots is nothing and doesn't it got the other way as penalties amass. meaning you actually get less grid spots as a penalty as you incur more infractions?

    Totally agree
They squander the revenue opportunity their track work creates. People pay over sticker for a Civic Type R and NSX Type S (even though the regular NSX had to be sold a a discount for most of the time it was on the market) to get enthusiast cars.
Honda puts damn little enthusiast product in the showrooms.
I had an S2000 and it was bullet proof and after my ownership it went to another enthusiast.
My Gen 2 NSX has also been amazing for over 6 years.
Honda just hasn't been able to sufficiently play up the four wheel brands wrt motor sports.
Some of it is their conservative people mobility philosophy and some of it is underinvestment in the category (you want a purple NSX, go feck yourself).
Ferrari attracts rich folks who like racing and rich folks who like luxury goods (brilliant) and some how gets people to accept sub standard quality (must be even more brilliant).
