I have a full system and I love it. My question is does the 355 need a muffler? Does it need the back pressure? What if it was completely open….. I’d like to straight pipe it out from the challenge grill. I wouldn’t like to lose any power for the sake of looks. I’m planning a big diffuser for the car. The current exhaust is on the way View attachment 2691090
The F355 needs no back pressure, the only reason it needs a muffler is to prevent tinnitus in the driver. You will need ear plugs if you put on something like straight pipes.
Ohh my, sounds proper. I love it. Definitely is going to happen. Do I cut the challenge grill or the bumper is the question to exit?? I know how the challenge grill cut out looks. I wish there was an example of with the cut out in the bumper Image Unavailable, Please Login
No muffler needed, I run this exhaust: https://topspeedauto.com/ferrari-f355-gtb-gts-spider-95-99-challenge-race-exhaust-system/ It's loud, like obnoxiously so, but drops around 65lbs off the rear of the car and gives faster throttle response.
Street car? What not run a valved exhaust so you can open it or close it when driving through neighborhoods or something? There is an in between muffler and no muffler.
I suppose I’m not that nice.. jokes aside, weight would be the number one reason. Second, I have no space for a muffler if I do a big, 458 type of diffuser.
Yes, Pete, that's an all T304 Stainless Steel version of my OEM Challenge silencer... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The car sounds pretty good now. I had this system custom made by Gothspeed. I also have a capristo but like this one better. I’m ready to go to the next level.
