You don't understand that your argument about rules are irrelevant. Why didn't Max dominate under those rules? It was because he didn't have the best car as he does now. No Lewis doesn't have to prove anything. He's been hired to drive in F1 for many years. And has many championships, records, a long career. Other drivers have to prove that they can stay in F1 into their late 30s. Russell has to prove he can stay in F1 and win championships. Hamilton has done everything.
It's not. But its important to call them out. Because if I don't call them out, they will try to be hypocritical with certain drivers. They think they slick. But I'm watching
Realistically, I think Hamilton should retire, because the stars are unlikely to align for him in future. He will never live the same circumstances that allowed him to win so constantly for years. I mean no disrespect, but one one hand he is getting older, and at the end of an exceptional career. On the other, Mercedes has been most affected by the budget cap, and their technical advantage has vanished.
Its rare for any driver to have a run as Hamilton did in the future. I think its all about motivation. If he and the team is motivated. They can still get to the top. If we were talking about Alpine coming to the top podium then I feel you. This is Mercedes we're talking about. But yeah things are not aligned for Mercedes now, he may retire, but I don't see it soon.
lets not forget that Max has proven himself time and time again in slow cars, and won his first title with 1, and was leading the 2nd title with a slower car until TD39 totally swung it RB's direction.
All great drivers prove themselves in any car. That's how they get noticed and hired by top teams. Max is doing nothing new that Hamilton, Schumacher and others have done. In fact he is playing catch up to them.
Max is taking a car with the capability to win and winning with it. Thats the game in F1. Take car, drive it to win if/since the car is capable. Not curing cancer or anything else. Hero worship of those driving in elongated/varied circles is useless LOL!
Jos is frustrated by his own career. His son won’t never calm this feeling even if he wins 200 gps and 10 WDC.
I don't know at what point that picture was taken during the press conference but it wouldn't surprise me if it was after Perez's statement that ''we were told different information'' regarding the fastest lap. I'd be annoyed too. From the moment he sat in the car on Friday he was unbeatable. Still sick during quali, mega in Q1, car breaks down on a track where overtaking isn't easy (well, having the fastest car certainly helps but still having to navigate 14 cars takes it's time), only for the same issue to come again...and then to receive team orders with target lap times as well After the race Perez was pissy at Max for ''stealing'' the fastest lap away, despite with 6 laps to go BOTH drivers where told free to push. With 3 laps to go Perez asked who has fastest lap and it was still Perez. He could've pushed. Perez asked this in full view of the cameras. Neither Perez or Max is stupid, Perez asked it as he knows what the media will write and they have. I've listened to both drivers' full race radio earlier and Perez is lying through his teeth. Max is just as much as an ******* as every other winning GP driver that has preceded him , the true colors always show up when there is controversy . Not that there is anything wrong with that , you have to be an ******* to win
True. Nobody says Lewis isn’t a great driver. Only the Goat narrative by the British media is completely wrong. Do you agree ?
And the Mercedes team as a whole was "being geniune": 1) When it got the rules to further their dominance. 2) TD039 to screw with other teams even though they couldn't fix their own aero issue. Sometimes you have to be an *$$ in order to win. As @bmwracer stated, others have preceded Max.
Yes. Goat narrative by ANY media is wrong. No such thing as goat. Impossible to put them all in the same car.
No problem with your statement. My request is just keep it consistent across all drivers. When Lewis does something he is called names. Max does something he is "being genuine"
To be honest with you and with insights, I would have preferred Lewis driving the Ferrari in 2017-2018 instead of Vettel.. Perhaps a WDC for at least one year.
