My 75 came with non original wiper arms, I recently sourced a correct set but were painted black. I removed the paint to discover one arm polished and the other a brushed finish. My thought was the one arm was brushed for the paint to adhere better but I'm not sure. So, how did these come? Polished or brushed?
    Pete.

Great, I'll hit it with some scotch brite and see how that works. Thx, Pete.

Believe those same Carello wipers carried over into the early 308 GTB's, as I have them on my '76 Euro. By then they were black, though not sure if just painted or anodized. Don't know how far into the 308 GTB/GTS run they were used. I have seen very few 3X8's with those Carello wipers still in place. Would assume they were a wear item and simply replaced over the years with aftermarket replacement blades.

Mine are original and brushed. 1978 Euro. I have seen may cars with replacement black wiper blade holders which I hate. Original style alu speedblade ones are still available from Trico, certainly here in UK.

I agree. The replacement black blade holders just look out of place on an older car. Do you know when they eventually switched to black/black anodized wipers? Early '80's perhaps? And did they eventually switch away from Carello? Regarding the Trico speed blades, they appear differently constructed than the Carello blades. I've heard the Carello's referred to as "wire blades" in reference to construction of the blade holder with metal rods versus stamped metal like the Trico's. Was the Trico considered an OE replacement?

I think the 308GT4 were always Alu.Never changed. Not sure about the 208. The 308GTB/S were always black.

The Trico ones to which I linked are "wire blade" copies of the Carello ones. Have a look at the pics on the website

Are the wiper arms by Marelli or Arman?

I have the black wiper arms on now, same type as the original stainless with the flip top cover. I just rubbed the stainless arms with some scotch brite, excellent result with a very nice consistent brush pattern. Now to find the wire type blades.

Although I don't personally need them I'm sure, sure others would like to know of a source of the wiper arms with flip top cover.
