Its high but at COTA a seat will cost you about $900 a grandstand seat without food and beverage. And parking is about $250. It costs a lot to put up a temp course. COTA doesn't need to tear down and put up each year.

I think hotel rooms will be more of an issue. I expect gouging there.

You should see what the hotels are charging. I called Wynn Hotel and their starting package include Parlor Suite, Paddock passes and transportation, food and etc. 4 days $200k for 2 people, freakin insane. I have friends who just paid 40k each person to be in the Mclaren suite without hotel, madness!

Holy crap! I can't believe this, I just looked, a decent trip for 2 would be about $50 Grand.

My wife and I booked a package to Europe 10 years ago. Attended GP's at Spa and Monza stayed in Monte Carlo for a few nights and the whole deal, airfare, rental cars rooms every thing was less than $10k total. ($5000 each)

Oh, and at Spa I had the best seats in the house. I was in the grandstand across from the pits eye to eye with the President of Ferrari.

I did some checking around today. Apparently the only tickets left are 3 day VIP Passes at $11,999.00 per person

Its basically impossible to buy tickets for this event. Today was the AMex pre-sale. I got online exactly at 10 AM. The ticketmaster site was already bogged down. By the time I got "into the queue" eight minutes later there were 2000+ ahead of me -- for probably a few hundred tickets.

I think resales are going to be nuts.

OMG I actually got a Ticket near the MSG dome. $2200 with fees.

Row 30. Should have a pretty good view of the hairpin.

Las F****S GP is nothing short of the prostitution, degradation and actual destruction of F1.

I actually landed there from Europe and spent 36 hours there in November on the way to Sedona and Scottsdale for my Octane magazine articles because it was the most convenient airport and yuk what a dump, these ludicrous casinos everywhere and everything fake.

Tonight on motorsport dot com I followed a link to a veeep package lv GP deal.... FIVE thousand dollars for some schmucks with escorts to get drunk etc not even paying attention to the race...like the Russians on their yachts in Monaco harbor except ten times more of them.

Reminds me of my first visit to that dump in 1992.

I walked into the Uber kitschy Caesars palace to find traces of the GP's there ten years before and found ONE framed poster.

    In the toilets.

    I kid you not.

    Enough said.

IMO, the Arab country races did more to change F1 than any other event. At least Vegas will be a party about the sport and racing in general.

At this point F1 has become unaffordable in the US. Even in Canada it’s starting to creep up in price. I rather just go to a European race with a new venue and tickets that an average person can afford.

This post seems like the right time to introduce the notion of what F1 has become. It's....'Whoremula 1'.
