Not sure, Boy George looks a lot faster, at least between him and Sainz i would pick him everyday!

Agree, and i know that hisn downfall at Mclaren had to do with the fact that he wasn't liked by anyone, mechanics, etc...but he learnt something, and we can see they like him at Red Bull. He's far from stupid, and he knows that the new Red Bull CEO won't alllow Marko to keep making racist comments and stupid remarks anymore (in fact that was the first thing he did, tu shut up Marko for good). Horner also knows they can't screw Checo in the open, and i believe he's also a bit fed up with Jos and Max constant desobeying the team, it makes him look bad....

Very diferent Bas, they might look alike, because of their self confident, and (arrogance if you want to call it) but Michael was more influential in the team, and there was more mutual respect and i would dare to say love. You saw Michael give victories to Rubens once he didn't need them anymore, Max is a totaly diferent animal.

I agree on the last part, when Michael won championships he let Barrichello win one or two after.

Max is very much loved by the team. Influence..it's probably different eras and certainly different teams, I don't think it's that necessary at RB. They back the winner as they should.

I like Sainz, but he is not in Russell's tier. This generation's top shelf is Verstappen, Leclerc, Russell, and Norris. Sainz is second tier, along with Gasly and Ocon.

Be nice to see Ocon in something a touch more capable. He is not one to turn away from a challenge. I think he has to monitor his aggression at times but he is fast. Max has the 'adaptable' trait FA has.

with a competitive car Max looks like he's on for another x6 at least.

His SIM racing results are also best of the best.

It's impossible to say who's 'better' or 'the best' between Max, LCH, Alonso, and possibly LeClerc, although I'm yet to be convinced about his true level of talent. You'd need to put them in the same team, car, and they have chance to acclimatize and set it up. We've almost never seen that. Prost and Senna for sure. Maybe Piquet and Mansell and maybe Fangio and Moss. There's a second tier with two top line driver, but one was either still coming up, or one much closer to the end. Those include Alonso and Hamilton, Prost and Lauda, Stewart and Cervert.

Right now I do believe Hamilton is much closer to the end than the start. He wants #8, but not as much as Max, Russell want to prove themselves, or Alonso wants to prove he's still there. That, not better or inferior skill will dictate results.

The constant justification of so many here to 'prove' LCH is somehow inferior to X, Y, or Z is painful to see. I don't know why he's so hated. So what, he's a product of the current generation for how people see the world and express themselves. It's what he does/did on track that matters. Schumacher may have be/been a wonderful caring, sharing kind hearted person off track, but his frequent examples of bad sportsmanship, dangerous driving etc. mean he'll never be considered by me as the best. Senna the same. I'm not an LCH only fan boy. My list of best drivers, in no particular order would be Fangio, Clark, and Prost.

Max, and unfortunately his father aren't helping his public image. No top line winner wants to come second. But I'm sure that Schumacher, Hamiltion, Alonso, etc. if they'd come from 15th to 2nd in the second race of the championship and their team mate had won, they'd have jumped out and hugged/high fived them. Maybe not in the last part of the season when the two were fighting each other for the championship, but sure early on. I think the best thing Max could do right now is fire his dad, and have Red Bull ban him from the paddock. The kid needs to learn some basic manors, or at least how to fake being something other than a petulant ass.

Unless Checo spends a couple of weeks with Rosberg junior and learns how to mind f*@k Max, then the championship is already decided. It would have cost him nothing, and helped his public image, by not looking like a spoiled brat and genuinely congratulating Checo.

That's an obvious statement. Both are from different era's where Schumacher had unlimited testing as opposed to Max who doesn't have that "luxury."

I'm sure there's quite a few F1 drivers currently on the grid that wouldn't mind having unlimited testing IF it existed today.

Regarding his SIM racing. He got onto iRacing 10 hours after the Jeddah race and got over 19sec's lead over everyone else. I guess that's how he "vents" his frustrations.

With budget limit - new cars are almost 'hard baked' from day 1 of testing. Changes now are accounted for in cost terms first - what can be done and stay within budget limit.

The trait most desirable - is one adaptive to the new car quickly. Max and FA seem to have most of that trait. The rest need more time to grow into the car.

Well said. LH is losing now more than winning - many still arent happy. Makes zero sense. They all wanted LH to be less competitive. He is. Still not happy. A bit like Max after Saudi. He is not in a losing position at all and yet appears as you describe.

Agreed. Adaptability is very crucial when the formula changes. Alonso has it and so does Max. The others definitely take time to get into the groove.

Depens on others, you can see what happens between Charles and Carlos. Charles adapted to ferrari from day one, even with seb, he was always the fastest, so i think he can prety much drive anything fast!

He did 11 IMSA sprint races in the last 2 days...11 races, 11 poles, 11 wins. Against top sim racers and real drivers like Alex Palou, shane van Gisbergen etc...He's among the highest irating drivers in the world right now.

For those that don't know, the iRacing iRating system works very similar to the chess rating system, to give an idea.

For those interested, Max racing the Ferrari 488 GT3 for Team Redline today. Car 101, with teammate Alex Palou.

Half an hour into the race and a 5.5 seconds lead already.

Max was leading by over 9 seconds but got taken out by a a passing LMP2 who passed too close, likely a bit of netcode.
